We all know Valanciunas is going to whoop on him Saturday as well to just rub it in.

Even though Valanciunas goes to town against Dre when they play, he just flat out doesn't have the impact Dre does when he's locked in. I hope he reads it too and shows up ready and makes Masai Ujiri eat his words (who more than likely doesn't truly believe Val > Dre anyway)

Drummond>Valanciunas.
It's Andre's fault that there's even a discussion to be had, though. Gobert AND his own backup outproduced him tonight

If this motivates Dre that's just sad!

Dude should bring it every night regardless & if that's not possible then SVG needs to rest him 10-15 games a season

He can bring it every night and still find motivation from outside sources; I don't think the two have to be mutually exclusive. LeBron undoubtedly had some extra motivation last year from everybody overlooking him in favor of Curry during the regular season.

I'm far from a JV fan but what makes Drummond worse is his contract imo.

Drummond too.

JV is the forth or fifth most important player of his team; Drummond is supposed to be our franchise player.

I want to cry.

They are completely different players and in completely different situations so can't really be compared

1 guy is expected to be the 3rd/4th/5th option offensively and not get abused defensively - he's not great doing that!

The other guy is JV!

If I was Drummond, this right here would set me on FIRE. Every match up against this dude, against this franchise, and against any franchise JV goes or Ujiri goes would catch the fury. I don't know how this sort of thing works in international surroundings, but in urban inner city environments comments like this will have guys coming for you.

It is time to man up.

Isiah used being slighted by the 92 USA Basketball Team as added motivation to destroy John Stockton on the court.

A dude who used to play for Chicago would use any quote, article, etc as motivation to destroy players. Sometimes he would lie and manufacture reasons to hate players.

Magic watched everything Bird related making him hate Bird for years as motivation to compete against him.

Mark Jackson would gossip to Reggie Miller about what other players were saying about him (most of the time he was lying) to get Reggie good and hyped.

I would be overjoyed if Drummond used this to get him over the hump.

he definitely needs to use this as grow up and do your job type of motivation instead of hanging out with all his suburban fake thug friends doing dumb gangster rap songs bragging about nonsense
You need 2-way wings, 2-way shooting bigs, and you can't allow low iq players on the court. Assist/turnover ratio is crucial. Shooting point guards are icing on the cake IF they are plus defenders.
Weaver & Casey, govern yourselves accordingly!

Why is JV thanking Ujiri for not trading him...? The Raptors are the one that proposed the trade in the first place.
He should be thanking the Piston's front office.

Ummm you just compared Thomas, Jordan, Magic & Reggie Miller - as competitors - to Drummond

Dre is simply not built that way!

IF he had that kind of fire it'd be a different story. He doesn't and is highly unlikely to develop it
