For purely selfish reasons, this sucks. To Chenier, all the best and thanks for all those years of making Wizards broadcast more fun to watch than what you tend to get elsewhere around the league.

Keeping my fingers crossed that it won't be Jamison taking his spot...

Bring Arenas back. All for supplanting some theater of the absurd next to Buckhantz.

Fare thee well Phil. You were a good one.

Only silver lining is his new deal with CSN will have him be in the studio and do some of those games where it's 3 person booth.

Phil has been the color commentator for HALF HIS LIFE. HALF HIS LIFE!

The article also mentioned Chris Webber. That would be TERRIBLE.

So basically Phil had to sit through all the leans years and NOW he gets the boot?

:nonono:

President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as "shithole" nations during a meeting Thursday and asked why the U.S. can't have more immigrants from Norway.

THIS MAKES NO SESNE....unless of course there's a big push to get a younger audience in. A younger audience that remembers some of the more recent Wizards/Bullets team. Recent teams like the one Jamison was on...

Unfortunately, I think it'll be Antawn.

Not exactly 'fired', but 'we're looking to go in a different direction' sort of thing.

Best part of the OP Washington Post article:

Chenier, 66, said in an interview this week that he would have enjoyed remaining on the game broadcasts. But if you think his message would be one of bitterness or disappointment, you probably haven’t spent much time around Phil Chenier.

“You know, at some point, in some kind of way, this was gonna come to an end. I’m glad it’s not because I’m dying or something,” he quipped. “It’s a company decision, and they were gracious enough to have me stay around and do some other things to stay involved. Everybody has to come to the realization that all good things must end.”

That's Chenier being Chenier. :usa:

I know he's new at it but Antawn is so boring. Phil is smooth, insightful, and his chemistry with Buck is great.

We need to let Ted and CSN know how we feel about this. Every Wiz fan I've talked to hates this move.

That young lady who does the Mystics game might be alright. Definitely better than Jamison.
