You can offer a contract to two players at a time. (Bidding period only). Check the FA list in order to know who is available. If no one offers a better contract in 6 hours, you claim your player (quote your post where you offered the contracts and write that you claim the player).

If you want to beat an offer, quote the post of the other GM, and make a better offer. The salary PER YEAR must be at least 500k higher.

Before you start reading the rules below, there are a few things I want to make very clear of…

1.) A players QO is NOT their cap hold. You can find all the necessary information about capholds for your Free Agents on basketballinsiders.com. See below for CAP HOLDS!

2.) This is going to be a "CLOSED". The only feed back you should receive is if the offer was received or not. You should come in with your best offer from the get-go and also check what the Free Agents demand.

3.) Before you make an offer, read over all of this very carefully and make yourself familiar with the process/CBA rules. Any illegal contracts WILL be vetoed. It is your job to make sure you are offering a legal contract. If you make a deal, that keeps you from affording a deal that you offered, you MUST inform me and retract your offer. Your roster must be updated with correct salaries and cap space, including cap holds as well as any and all cap space you have. NO EXCEPTIONS.

FREE AGENCY RULES:
- You cannot trade any player you sign to a max contract, unless he is your own max FA that you re-signed.
- All other FA's can be traded, no restrictions.
- If you sign players with cap space, you revoke the right to use the MLE or any other exception sans the Room Mid-Level Exception.
- All emails received before the start of FA will be deleted - unless other directions are advised.
- RFA's are and always have been 24 hours to match. If not matched within that time frame - the new team signing the player wins that player.

CAP INFO:

Salary Cap: $105 Million
Luxury Tax: $125 Million
Hard Cap: $145 Million
Minimum Salary: $85 Million

Maximum Salaries:

With the new CBA, the maximum salaries are defined by a certain percentage of the cap, and breaks down as:

0-6 yrs in NBA: About 25% of Cap or $26,250,000.
7-9 yrs in NBA: About 30% of Cap or $31,500,000.
10+ yrs in NBA: About 35% of Cap or $36,750,000.

You can check the Free Agent List below, and you will find information about the years the Free Agents have spent in the NBA and you find information about their FA Status (Bird or Non-Bird), which is important, if you make an offer.

All players that have the status BIRD can accept contracts from the team that has the players cap hold listed with 7.5 % raises. Other teams can only offer 4.5 % raises.

All players that have the status NON-BIRD can only accept contracts with 4.5 %.

Raises:

Players signed using Bird Rights are allowed a maximum of 7.50% yearly raises from the 1st year salary and a maximum of five years. Players signed not using Bird Rights are allowed a maximum of 4.50% yearly raises and only a maximum of four years. We wont use raises for Free Agents signed via exceptions though in order to make it easy. We use them for other Free Agents because they are important for max deals and so on and so on.

Exceptions:

If you have no cap space, you can still sign Free Agents via Exceptions (your own [if their FA status is Non-Bird], or from other teams) with no raises

- Non-Taxpayer MLE:

Year 1: $6,000,000 (Up to 4 years w/up to 4.5% raises )

- Taxpayer MLE:

Year 1: $4,000,000 (Up to 3 years w/up to 4.5% raises)

- Room MLE:

Year 1: $3,000,000 (Up to 2 years w/up to 4.5% raises)

- Bi Annual Exception

Year 1: $2,500,000 (Up to 2 years w/up to 4.5% raises; may be split between players)

Cap Holds:

- Minimum Cap Hold: $500,000
- League Minimum contract: $1,000,000

- First-round pick coming off rookie contract: 250% of previous salary if prior salary was below league average; 200% of previous salary if prior salary was above league average.
- Bird Rights Player: 190% of previous salary (if below average) or 150% (if above average).
- Early Bird Rights Player: 130% of previous salary
- Non-Bird Rights Player: 120% of previous salary

Requirements for Free Agency Offers:

1. Your roster page must be 100% updated and reflect 2017/18 salaries and cap holds. Remember you must account for a 11 man roster (THE 12TH CAP HOLD IS NOT NEEDED AS IT GETS REPLACED BY THE FIRST GUY YOU SIGN) using min cap holds to fill it out, first round draft picks have cap holds that must be accounted for. If you have kept Bird's Rights on a free agent you must have that accounted for.

IF YOUR PAGE IS NOT UPDATED AND CORRECT YOU WILL NOT SIGN ANY FREE AGENTS PERIOD!

2. You must include both the name of your team and the player you are offering in the subject line. It helps me to keep track of all the offers.

3. You may send me your offer in any format you like. None of the usual rules apply. However, it is your job to sell that free agent to play for you.

4. When you make an offer you are agreeing to not make one public complaint or send one nasty email about not getting a player or players you want. Just like in real life there will be a lot of interest in the top free agents and only one team may sign them. You are also agreeing to not quit the game over failing to sign players in free agency. When you choose to tear a team down to build through free agency there is risk you won't get a big fish. This happened to the team I root for in real-life 3 straight summers and they had a superstar, a great coach, and great owner to recruit. DO NOT BE THAT GUY.

I am sorry for the inconvenience.

I though that Laimbeer knew more about this, but I was wrong about that, and that is not his fault, it is mine.

I was asked to help out and help with decisions, since the intial post had Toronto signing about 7 max guys. BUT I do not feel comfortable doing so, being as I have a lot of tier 1 free agents myself.

We will have to delay FA another 24 hours, and I am sorry about that.
