I have no clue where teams stay, but Hyatt Place is nearest to campus, and decent...also close enough to your standard Vegas stuff if you are into that sort of thing.

Is there any reason to buy tickets in advance? I've read it's best to get them at the box office day of, but if hate to fly out there and have them sell out for any of the days.

Just hang out in the concourse between Thomas & Mack and the Cox Pavilion (games are held in both and the concourse connects the two). You'll see all kinds of NBA related people there.

No real discounts on tickets to be found.

As for staying, UNLV is one end of the strip, so if you stay down by the Hard Rock, you are somewhat close. I recommend just using Uber. That is what I do and it is way cheaper than any other option.

I don't think they sell out. Has never even been half full for anytime that I've been there. The only exception was last year when the Lakers (they draw a ton of fans there) played the Sixers (Simmons played). That game was packed, but nothing else was even close.

Fultz (presumably), Brown, don't-call-me-Ralph Nader, Zizic, Yabadoo. Best summer league team you've ever heard of Smitty?

Yeah. Except Yaba-daba-doo (Yabusele) ain't gonna be there.

Rumor Central: Ante Zizic will skip EuroBasket tournament to focus on Celtics
-- Nick Silva | ESPN.com | 06-08-17

http://www.espn.com/blog/nba/rumors/post/_/id/43178/rumor-central-ante-zizic-will-skip-eurobasket-tournament-to-focus-on-celtics
The Boston Celtics selected Croatian center Ante Zizic with the No. 23 pick in the 2016 NBA draft. It has been assumed for several months that Zizic will join the Celtics this summer, and that speculation appears to be correct.

According to reports out of Croatia, Zizic has decided not to play for his country during the upcoming EuroBasket tournament, which runs from Aug. 31 to Sept. 17, so he can focus on his move to the NBA ahead of the 2017-18 season.

ESPN's Chris Forsberg reported last month that Zizic probably will play with the Celtics in July at the Utah Summer League and Las Vegas Summer League. Boston's first game in Utah is July 3 against Philadelphia.

"July 1 just has to roll over on the calendar, and we’ll sign him," Celtics director of player personnel Austin Ainge said a few months ago. "He wants to be here, and we want him here."

Zizic finished the 2016-17 season playing in Turkey with Darussafaka Dogus Istanbul, and he came in second in the EuroLeague Rising Star voting behind Real Madrid's Luka Doncic, who could be the No. 1 pick in the 2018 NBA draft.

Is asking the wife to send you to Vegas for summer league an appropriate Fathers day request?....
my gut says no, but my heart says yes.

Nets will again bring in Euro coaches for summer league
by Net Income | Jun 12, 2017, 4:02pm EDT

http://www.netsdaily.com/2017/6/12/15785018/nets-will-again-bring-in-euro-coaches-for-summer-league
Just as they did last year with coaches from France and Italy, the Nets will add highly regarded young European coaches to their summer league staff. The Nets play in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, starting on July 7.

Damir Mulaomerović, the coach of Cibona Zagreb in Croatia, and Sasa Obradovic, the coach of Lokomotiv Kuban in Russia, will work with Kenny Atkinson in Las Vegas, according to reports emanating from Europe. Both are in their 40’s.

Mulaomerović played in the Croatian, Italian, Spanish and Greek leagues from 1990 to 2012. Although a native of Bosnia, Mulamerovic played for the Croatian national team. He began his coaching career in 2013 and joined Cibona, where he played much of his career, as head coach in 2015. He also coached the Bosnian national team last year.

Obradovic played in the French, German, Serbian and Italian leagues. He won a silver medal in the 1996 Olympics, playing for Yugoslavia. Since retiring in 2005, Obradovic has coached teams in German, Ukraine, Poland and Russia, landing in Kuban last year

Oracio Cauchi of Sportando reported on Malaomerovic, David Pick on Obradovic.

Last summer, the Nets hired Julien Espinosa of the Antibes Sharks in France and Maurizio Buscaglia of Aquila Trento in Italy for summer league duty.

Those look to be pretty good Matchups.

I wish that the Summer League was a bit later, and more Spread out.
Vegas, should be the first one. The others should be in August.

It will never happen. The players, coaches and team personnel wouldn't get any time off then. They are already back in the facilities in September. August is the only real down month on the NBA calendar.

Himmelsbach (with a few snips; more in the article):

In addition to adding the No. 1 overall pick and potentially three second-round choices, director of player personnel Austin Ainge said Boston’s core of returning players is expected to include Jaylen Brown, Jordan Mickey, Ante Zizic and Demetrius Jackson, among others.

Ainge said that Zizic, last year’s No. 23 overall pick, is expected to arrive in Boston a few days before the team’s summer practices start later this month. Zizic spent this season playing for a Turkish club in the high-level Euroleague.
Forward Abdel Nader, the 58th pick of last June’s draft who was named the D-League rookie of the year this season, will also be on the summer league roster, Ainge said.

But 6-foot-9-inch forward Guerschon Yabusele remains sidelined after undergoing surgery last month to have bone spurs removed from his ankles. Ainge said that Yabusele will not accompany the team during summer league play, instead remaining in Boston to maintain his rehabilitation schedule.

Ainge said the Celtics have agreements with other international and D-League players to join their summer league roster, but he declined to name them because those decisions often remain fluid until the draft unfolds and rosters are more set.
