Years after Quin Snyder and Kenny Atkinson each parlayed their time on the Hawks bench into Head Coaching positions elsewhere in the league, Bud's coaching tree now extends across the Atlantic.

Re: Hawks lose (Another) Assistant Coach
What are our thoughts on changes to the coaching staff?
Was this a promotion, or could it be residual fall out from us changing PBO and GM?
And how many times can Darvin Ham be overlooked for a HC position? At pretty much any level?

It's a mark of a great staff if other teams poach your members. Quin's experience was phenomenal and Kenny has Ham beat by a hair so it remains to be seen if Ham is around come next year. Neven got himself an amazing opportunity heading back overseas, the track record of Euro head coaches in the NBA isn't stellar so that's not a knock on him personally.
Bigger question is who replaces them. Bud promoted guys through osmosis although I do like the Lee and Jenkins hires, remains to be seen what Schlenk does though. Does he seek out player development guys he's familiar with from Golden State or does he look for a top flight assistant sparking more Bud job security speculation

I met coach Spahija a couple seasons ago after he came to a Bosnian restaurant that I'm very familiar with. He was a nice guy and took the time to talk some hoops with me and my dad. I'm sad to see him go but wish him the best with this new coaching opportunity.

This seems to be the overwhelming sentiment:
