I assume this would be Anderson to the Blazers, Turner or Crabbe to NY, and Melo to HOU with sweetener to NY somehow

He seems to never be wrong when it comes to the Knicks but it's possible I've given him to much credit

POR: Anderson, Kelly, Taylor, Quarterman
NYK: Crabbe, Aminu
HOU: Melo

Works in the trade checker...Seems like more would or should go to NYK

I would imagine thats the rumor, but I've heard that one bandied about twitter for a minute. I understand it was Turner, not Crabbe, in most variations. It's not without merit - the idea definitely could work for all involved logically. But have there actually been talks? :dontknow:

If Houston trades for Melo, they have to send Anderson out. I don't see the Knicks wanting Anderson with KP at PF already.

Portland can take Anderson and send some perimeter players back to the Knicks. Probably Turner and either Harkness or Aminu (I know Turner was often talked about as a triangle PG but that may not matter anymore). Then it comes down to the draft picks/youth to the Knicks to close the gap. Swannigan from Por, + 2020 Houston 1st? I'd expect Knicks want more but may not get it.

http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=ycsg3etp

with a 2020 protected first rounder coming for HOU to the knicks

this works. Portland shaves about 3.5 million of the cap which probably helps them in tax payments and gets them a starting PF and a solid backup SF.

Houston Gets: Melo
Portland Gets: Ryan Anderson and Lance Thomas
Knicks get: harkless and a 2020 pick (via HOU) with taking on Crabbe's contract

Gods that is awful for Portland... No chance. Plus we JUST traded Quarterman to Houston... I'm pretty sure we can't take him back.

Portland would see Crabbe and Anderson as about equal... I don't see Portland giving up Harkless for Lance Thomas... try again :)

Guys, if the Knicks don't want Anderson, what makes some think they would take Evan Turner?

I rather have Melo acting as a 12th man and waving a towel at the end of the bench... I give him 82 DNP [coaches decision]

Turner makes zero sense, because the Knicks will not be running the triangle anymore [Phil got fired]

Not a Melo fan but love this for the Rockets. Can coach & Melo coexist is the real question.

That saves you guys about 6M I think (most of the fodder are non gtd I believe). I have a hard time seeing why you guys would be involved otherwise, if it isn't for saving money.

I think what makes sense is Ryno and Rockets first to Portland, Crabbe and Hartenstein to NYK, Melo to Houston

I can't see the Knicks taking on Anderson or Crabbe or Turner without Noah going back somehow.

My guess is Anderson to Portland
Melo to Houston
Ed Davis/Aminu/Leonard to NYK+ picks from both Portland and Houston.

would they really see Crabbe and Anderson as equal? Ones a backup the other one would fill a starting PF role perfect stretch 4 for lillard and CJ to work the P&R with Nurkic.

If Portland sees Crabbe as an "asset" then probably no deal happens. I was working Anderson to POR under the assumption they would prefer Anderson to Crabbe.

maybe the rights to Hartenstein going to Portland?
