Good pickup by Houston he will thrive playing with CP3 and Harden

Nwaba plays hard every possession, something the bulls desperately need

Two pretty big losses for LA in my opinion. I like both of those guys.

How is Houston affording all this?

It's a one year deal but honestly no clue how Houston is pulling this off.

Nwaba is super cheap contract, literally zero risk for the Bulls.

And these are not big losses for LA at all, they waived both of these guys.

Yeah, maybe "pretty big" is a little hyperbole but both would have been rotation players, especially Black. Good pickups for Houston and Chicago though nonetheless.

both are really good. Really annoyed Nwaba didn't clear the waivers to be honest, he was a really good defender for us.

Black, as good as he was, was an end of the bench, 3rd string center for us now, especially with Lopez coming in. We have Bryant and Zubac who are both solid so i think its a loss but not as big as it would be.

You can always sign minimum contracts unless you are hard capped and going to go over the hard cap, which they aren't (yet and probably won't). Hard cap is at $125M and Rockets are at $114M so they aren't even in luxury yet. http://www.spotrac.com/nba/houston-rockets/cap/

It's more of a gain for Houston than a loss for LA based on the Lakers situation

Black going back to the team that gave him his first break!

Nice pickups for both teams. Like both of the guys for the minimum.

I'm surprised Black is gone with how terrible Zubac has looked in SL according to Lakers fans I've talked to

No not at all and that's debatable. Black was serviceable but not an ideal fit for Luke's high tempo/space system. Nawaba will be missed a little but not a lot. Happy for both though because they can play in this league.

I love what Morey has done. I would be sorely tempted to sit out the GSW storm, accumulate assets and bide my time, but when you have a guy like Harden you're kind of compelled to try, and Houston are really trying. The Rockets will be extremely strong this year, and it likely will be nowhere near enough. But I give Morey credit for taking a real shot at it.

Damn. Was hoping the Wolves would pick up Nwaba. Could've been our Jonathan Simmons type under Thibs

Black can help. Nwaba isn't good at all (can't shoot a lick), albeit athletic and occasionally exciting.

I shed a (imaginary) tear. Nwaba and Black were two of my favorite players from last years team. They brought energy and effort everys econd they were on the floor.

Tarik is one of the good guys in the league, on and off the court. Very classy and humble. Undersized for his position but makes up for it with heart and energy. Sometimes I just wish he had more of a mean streak in him, but he's just a nice dude who plays hard. The Lakers have enough centers and if they want to go small they can put Randle there.

Nwaba is a guy I was hoping would clear waivers so the Lakers could get him back. He's an excellent end of the bench guy. Can't shoot worth a lick but an impressive athlete who can get after it on the defensive end. His intensity on that end will be missed. KCP and Josh Hart bring more to the table, so he wouldn't have gotten many minutes. He most likely would've been signed to a 2-way contract and sent to the G-league.

Happy for both of these guys.
