This is probably going to be an unpopular opinion, but I think 08 Garnett was basically as good as he had ever been, just asked to do less on offense and more on defense. Definitely a little bit of a drop-off compared to 03/04, but not that significant to me.

So to answer this question, I'm tempted to say none. Even compared to Dirk's magical 2011 run, which I'm a huge fan of.

06 and 11

I'd also take what Dirk did in 11 over any version of KG, including 04.

If I were to do a top 5 seasons between the two, off the top of my head, I'd go:

2004 KG
2003 / 2005 KG
2011 Dirk / 2008 KG

Not unpopular, but I'd take 2006, 2007, and 2011. Possibly 2003 too, but I'd have to think about it.

2006, 2007 and 2011 are only acceptable answers imo

06 Dirk lost with HCA in Finals.
07 Dirk lost with HCA in first round.

Be consistent.

I see no way that 08 Kg is ahead of 05. He was only a year removed from his peak, and it was clear he started slowly declining after that. He didn't magically catch a new wind in 08, he was just put in a much better situation than the previous 3 years.

2011 Dirk.

The guy that swept Kobe and Phil Jackson's Lakers and then proceeded to beat LeBron-Wade duo in their prime.
He was surreal the entire playoffs.

2006, 2009-11. Would consider 2005 too. 2003 would be in there if not for the Playoff injury.

I have Dirk ahead for both peak and career.

I think 08 is one of the toughest years to order the top guys. Im not sure how id order Kobe, Dirk and Kg that year but thats my top 3. I have Cp3 and Lebron for 4th/5th. Im higher on 08-10 Dirk than most tho
