Hornets Name Change

Strap in gents, it's the offseason. Time for irrelevant time filler topics.

Two questions:

(1) If the Hornets had to change their name, what would you want them to change it to?

(2) If you can remember, what name did you want the team to be when it was announced that they were going with Bobcats?

I think incorporating all of Carolina in the name similarly to the Panthers, North and South, would be wise. A lot of people from South Carolina embrace Charlotte based teams like their own and we all know that no professional sports team plan to reside in South Carolina any time in the near or distant future.

As mentioned already Carolina Cougars is cool. It's retrospect of the ABA team.

I'm surprised anybody would forget that :lol:

But really I'd be totally down for the Charlotte Flight. That's what I wanted our expansion team to be.

Carolina Flight all the way

I remember in one of the NBA2k games I changed the Bobcats into the Flight...Carolina blue, white and red color scheme...pretty cool and different.

Ill stick with the Hornets though thanks ; )

1. Carolina Cougars (or Charlotte Cougars if we couldn't do the regional affiliation)

A nice nod to Charlotte's first pro team. Also presents some promising promotional opportunities. Who wouldn't want to hit up Cougar Night? C'mon.

2. Charlotte Flight

Sounded sort of like a WNBA name which is kinda lame, but of the finalists we had to choose from it was the most regionally logical. It would have fit nicely with MJ buying the team later on.
