Really surprised at the lack of comments. This is the best fight of 2017 (UFC /boxing combined).

This is a fight real boxing fans have been waiting for 16 months to happen and it's finally here, cannot wait.

I don't know who to pick. A year ago I said GGG by KO. Now I'm not so sure.

Anyone super confident in a pick would be an a**hole. This is a seriously tough fight to call, esp given the levels of competition (Khan, Kirkland, Angulo, and Chavez - give me a break!) and ambiguous results in many of their recent fights.

Personally, I think the Porter fight was an aberration. He went lefty unexpected and southpaws are a real trick for a methodical, come forward guy like GGG. He needs to be able to probe and gauge angles and distance. I don't think the Porter fight reflected much other than catching GGG off-guard.

I am going to say GGG by KO 7 rd.
Hi love, bye love, I will miss my love.

I think GGG will stick to the game plan he had against Lemiex. He's going establish his jab early.

Golovkin throws a jab more than any other fighter in the sport, and it's pretty much a power punch. Canelo has the advantage in hand speed. Canelo isn't much for volume, but he's very good with combos. When he does try to throw combinations, he's going to need to get off first and be crisp. Both guys are elite body punchers imo, especially GGG with his power. The difference is that I think GGG can hurt Canelo, whereas I'm not sure Canelo can unless it's a perfect body shot. That's going to be the answer to how this fight finishes. I think GGG stops him between rounds 8-10. If it's a tense, slower paced full 12 round fight with no knockdowns, then the edge may go toward Canelo. I could also see a bit of a controversial decision for Canelo, too.

Both headhunting and neglecting body work. I have GGG up 3-2 after 5.

Canelo spending too much time on the ropes, but GGG is opening himself up a bit more.

I've got 4 straight rounds now to GGG, 5-2 after 7.

Every good shot Canelo lands, he doesn't capitalize and retreats back to the ropes. 6-2 GGG after 8.

HUGE RIGHT HAND FROM CANELO...and GGG hardly budges. Back to the ropes Canelo goes. I may be inclined to give Canelo that round based on that lone shot, but GGG mounted more offense throughout the round. God help Canelo if GGG doesn't respect Canelo's power after that one.

Canelo opening up his offense in the 10th...took a rest after the halfway mark, but finishes strong. I have it 7-3 GGG after 10.

8-3 GGG entering the 12th. Canelo going for broke! GGG going for broke!

I've got it 8-4 GGG. This has controversy written all over it as it heads to the judges.

118-110 to Canelo?! 10 rounds to 2 to Canelo?! Adalaide Byrd should be completely ashamed of her scorecard.

115-113 GGG.

Byrd shouldn't be judging fights. No way in hell did Canelo win 10 rounds.

Very few clean power shots landed, next to no damage done, and zero knockdowns. Riveting stuff. I thought the compubox numbers and the steady pressure of GGG would give him a fairly convincing victory but I guess not... I'm not a major boxing fan so maybe others enjoyed it more, but I didn't find it to be terribly exciting.

I had it 117-111 GGG.

When they announced 118-110 my initial though was "that's a little generous to GGG but I could see it". What a disgrace. Adalaide Byrd should probably be investigated. Some money definitely changed hands.

Read on Twitter

At least she picked 2 rounds where I thought GGG clearly won.

The draw card gave Canelo 7? This was definitely set up to be a draw.

Scored it 7-5 for Golovkin, most ringside have it that score or 8-4 Golovkin. 10-2 Canelo is either absolute incompetence or she was on the take. Period. Highly doubt Canelo won more than 6 rounds, that's probably as generous as you can possibly get. It's going to set up a rematch for sure, my best guess is the other big boxing weekend, Cinco De Mayo, as the date for the rematch.

118-110 is legitimately investigation worthy. Like find out what the **** is happening there because that's beyond just a judge being dumb.

how on earth did Byrd have this 118-110 Alvarez. Ok if you had Alvarez, i'd say its a bit sus but its at least debatable, but to have GGG only taking 4 and 7, that isn't just bad judgement, that surely has something to do with a payment and taking some money on the side. You can't be that bad of a judge to score it that way.

I just rewatched the fight. There's no possible way GGG only won 2 rounds unless you were paid under the table.

Another black-eye for boxing. Will people get duped again for the upcoming Cinco De Mayo rematch? :nonono:

It was a close, close fight but I still thought GGG did enough to win even though Canelo found his second wind in the later rounds. That Byrd scorecard is atrocious. How on Earth did GGG ONLY win 2 rounds in her eyes?

I caught the last 6 rounds via Periscope. GGG won at least 4 of those and possibly 5.

118-110 was horses***. Period.
