Send him to the Heat for the garbage the Heat were offering.

The NBA commissioner is a joke, a pushover, a wet finger in the air which way is the wind blowing weakling. He’s been run over by people taking and taking, harassing and getting their way. No discipline equals anarchy and that’s where the NBA is now.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

At least we know every deal Mitch makes is an honest one and while the other GMs might trend shady, a good number of those are motivated to do an honest deal or two in order to get things done.

Silver's stated response to all the rule breaking is that the rules themselves should be amended. The idea of actually enforcing existing rules somehow does not occur to him.

I really didn't have an opinion one way or the other when it came to Mitch but this news absolutely swings me in the direction of truly admiring him.

I now have tremendous respect for Mitch.

Good on him.

It’s got to be hard when everyone else is cheating. Really shows his true character.

Mitch is a good guy. But i want more clarity on him saying Rozier would be a lottery pick in this years draft. Still makes me chuckle

I just assumed that Mitch was trying to say that the team was adding talent with Rozier. Maybe to answer some of the criticism that the team was just tanking or that he should have traded Kemba for a pick.

IDK.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

My best guess is this goes back about a year, draft day 2018. Kemba was linked to the Cavs as they tried to keep LeBron. They had the 9th pick I believe, and it was generally assumed that the Hornets could've had that pick for Kemba. They even took a PG (Sexton) with the pick, maybe one we really liked.

I think that was the moment they decided to ride out Kemba's contract, for better or worse. I don't necessarily think it looks that bad in hindsight either when you consider Kemba's All-NBA campaign and starting the All-Star game as host, all while cementing himself as the best Hornet of all time.

But I do wonder if Mitch anguished over the decision to turn down a "lottery pick" for Kemba, so much so that it manifested into this bizarre comment. So when it became apparent they were gonna lose Kemba, they had to scramble to get something in return. Ideally something they viewed as similar in value to what they were offered a year prior.

Maybe he doesn't buy his own statement here, or he's in denial, but that'd be where the Rozier = lottery pick idea came from. In the days of the $100M+ salary cap the Rozier contract isn't as bad as it's being portrayed, but still you hate to think the move was made in haste just so they could say they got something in return.

I wonder what the hold up is on Justin Holiday. I’d be very interested in him on the Hornets

I for one prefer Rozier captaining this ship over Sexton. They drafted Garland and rumor is those guys don't like playing with Sexton. Also not a big fan of Dennis Smith Jr.

Hornets will be the worst team in the league. They have the worst collection of talent. Every team on that list has a player or two better than Charlotte’s best player. We don’t even know who the Hornet’s best player is currently.

I don't see it for the Knicks. And just because a player was picked high in the draft doesn't mean they're good, we should know that well by now.
