Jaylen Brown

Post#1 » by boscelts56 » Thu Nov 16, 2017 12:35 am

Just wanted to as a die hard celtics fan share some thoughts on Jaylen brown. The amount of disrespect our fan base gives him is crazy. I dont mean everyone but alot of them. Maybe it is really been brought to light more cause of how well tatum is doin. Dont get me wrong tatum is AWESOME and i think hes gona be a star but browns ceiling is just something else. The kid has a work ethic that is second to none. Kobe like in every way. Hes jumped from 6.6 to 14.7 and 7 rebounds in his second year! Statistically that is improving at a higher rate then khawai, giannis, n kobe! Look it up if you dont believe me.

Ontop of his developing offensive game he currently leads all nba players in defensive rating. In his second year! If he were to bump his average to 16 and 7 by allstar break its not absurbd to suggest in a weak eastern conference and the conferences best team that he could earn and allstar nod. The hawks have had four just recently and weve had 3 or 4 as well. If not this year Jaylen is def projecting to be an all star next year.

That would be allstar and elite defender and the age of 22. The dude is special and wants to be great. If you dont follow the celtics or jaylen check out some of his videos hes a cool humble dude that works his ass off and is gona be the next superstar in this leauge.

I don't think we need another Jaylen Brown thread.

That being said, unpopular opinion, but I don't think Jaylen is that great of a prospect, I actually think he's a tad overrated and Tatum is already the superior player. He is starter material for sure and I can see him becoming something like a super role player, but I don't think he'll ever have an all-star level impact. Questionable handles and a poor feeling for the game will limit his playmaking and shot creation potential. Would love to be wrong, though.

He's not all star level yet but many C's fans think he can get there. Just needs to put the work in.

According to RPM, he’s been a two way player and a top 10 SG. He’s been playing well and Celtics fans have given him accolades accordingly. Read the Jaylen Brown vs Brandon Ingram thread if you don’t believe me.

To me, I think his best comp is Richard Jefferson. Very good player with a nice career, but not a future franchise cornerstone.

Jaylen Brown's work ethic is underrated, he's developed so nicely, I'm very impressed with his outside shot and his commitment on defense. Dude has a sky high ceiling

Ascrilias you obviously arnt following closly lol. Brown is third on the team in points, averging 7 boards, the number one rated defender in the whole leauge! Who the heck is that super role player lol. Tatum is def not beter then brown. Tatum is good n will be a star but ppl like you are seriously sleepin on him. Lol hes improved at a statistically faster rate then all 3 of khawai, giannis, n kobe. Thats crazy. The dude works harder then anyone. Watch hes projecting to average atleast 20 next year. That would make him and allstar in his third year pretty damn good at age 22

I think hes a solid player/prospect..his floor is iggy ceiling is jimmy butler.

On a side note Ingram is a much better prospect and will be the much better player going forward tho.

He has the potential to, just fix his handling please so he can go to that next level. Until then can't see him being an all star in "The weak East". Not yet.

Watch jaylen is goin to be a superstar. Soon

Young Richard Jefferson was a beast, don’t sell him short.

And What metric rates Brown has the best defender in the league?

Jaylen, Richard Jefferson was a very good player and you should be happy if your career mirrors his. Don’t be so salty!

I'm sky high on Jaylen Brown. I think he's gonna be a stud. His work ethic and his athletiticism are things you can't teach. People are just in love with Tatum more right now because he's such a good shooter right off the rip. BuT I love both

Jaylen isn't super-skilled, but he's an elite athlete and I can already see he's the type that can start on a championship team, and he's only 21. He's getting 15 ppg on somewhat subpar efficiency with no one really trying to guard him. With that said, he's already a versatile defender who can guard 1-4, and I can easily see him getting to 20 ppg on league average efficiency or a bit above that one day. When you combine him with Jayson Tatum—who could be the type of guy to get 25 ppg on 60 TS% with great defense—the celtics are gonna be dangerous.

Is this like a Celtics circle jerk thread to pump each other up about how good Jaylen is? Yeah, he's good. We get it.
