Murray covering Harden? An interesting challenge. Let's hope that Harris has that assignment, although I hope someday Murray can handle it. Then again, Gordan's not an easy cover anyway. Maybe they use Harris to hold him down and use team defense since no one man ever seems to stop Harden.
Houston's bigs are fairly mobile and most of them can shoot in half-a-second if left open. If the Nuggets want to win, they are going to have to hustle and when they get tired, they'll have to hustle harder. This is a game that seems to need about 10-12 players.

Sure glad the Nuggets went cheap and hired the defensive-minded Malone instead of over-paying D’Antoni right....right?

I wish we signed Mbah A Moute, i think a few of us were campaigning to get him but we loaded on more 4s instead. +57 is an NBA record for single game plus/minus, and dude is a better basketball player than Andre Roberson who got 14M per season.
Yeah this looks really ugly. So many things:
Lookie that our defense returns to the historically bad defense of last season without Millsap.
Why bother with Plumlee? We are paying him more to be a backup than Nene and Koufos combined, you know two ex-Nuggets that we played against in consecutive games, and each of them are arguably better than Plumlee.
Well if there's one positive, at least Jokic will make the All-Star team this season. It's been a while. We screwed him over from making it last year but I won't go into that.
No reason not to play Faried. Defensive purposes? LOL. Look at the boxscore. Which genius thought of that?
Two contrasting styles of how GM builds their team, TC is the nice guy and Morey who is well known to be a dick to players and managers.
No reason not to have and try Torrey Craig on the team atm. At least don't call him the team's best defender in the preseason conferences if you're not going to give him a try.
The best 3 teams (GS, HOU, BOS) all have genius coaches who are still able to maintain an elite system when one of their stars are out with an injury. We don't have that and I am envious. Blah blah blah not Malone's fault etc, but I'd welcome anyone to give me reasons that he's not our Mark Jackson or JB Bickerstaff

Would not advise anyone to watch Malone's post game conference for this.
Probably the dumbest things he's ever said in his time here.

Young players are going to be inconsistent - they need to learn how to win. Blowing up this team would probably result in bringing in some middle-of-the-pack veterans and going back to our old pattern of first round playoff exits. I still believe this team can make the playoffs this year and it's too early to guarantee, but they seem to have the potential for much more in a couple years or so.
With that said, considering this game, oops, mom says I can't use those words. The bright side of this game was it showed more of Malone's inability to motivate/control/teach/adapt/adjust/etc.

No Faried? Against an active team with no significant size? Ridiculous!
“We made a change after 17 games, and that’s poor coaching by me,” Malone said, via Altitude. “I didn’t trust what we did after 17 games.”
So Malone did not like the improved defense and went back to last year's approach? Ridiculous!

It happens about 3-4 times per year, but I couldn't get the game until 11:30 PM. I enjoy not being in the Denver TV market most of the time because I get a wider variety of sports and still get all of the Denver teams, but the Nuggets are delayed now & then --- NEVER had the Broncos delayed.

Obvious we need to keep Barton as a SG, but it's very apparent we NEED SF help as Chandler isn't playing very well for the season

Well there better be a massive coaching change if your hoping the young guys start playing at a championship level in the coming years.
Nuggets coaching has been pretty bad in recent years (old GK, b shaw (lol), and now malone)
nuggets overall roster situation has also been on par with teams like brooklyn, suck-re-mento, orlando, etc. (even the knicks have amassed a more talented roster after the melo saga. Kristaps may be a more consistent player than Jokic but it remains to be seen)
bottom line...may need to be a GM type change on the horizon. Nuggets are on par with those teams i mentioned above... (orlando, brooklyn, etc.)

Agreed, we need a coaching change. Thanks for the laugh from when I read about how bad Karl was. It always makes me chuckle that he won Coach of the Year and got fired for that. I hear often how terrible he was and yes, he frustrated me, but I never called for him to be fired. Isn't it amazing that he led the Nuggets into the playoffs year after year and the Nuggets haven't been in the playoffs since he was fired.
