Nashty & Cactus: Game 29 vs the Kings

Post#1 » by bwgood77 » Wed Dec 13, 2017 5:20 am

Standings

How it works
Spoiler:
After each Suns game, an MVP thread will be opened for you to vote for your top 3 players. These threads can be created by anyone, as long as there isn't currently a thread for that game.

Anyone can vote for the 3-2-1 (including other fans from other forums) but you can only vote for the Suns players (or coach).

3 votes to who you think was a the best Suns player.
2 for the second best
and 1 for the 3rd best.

**EDIT: as of January something-or-other 2017, you can now distribute votes for the Nashty and Cactus however you please. You have a total of 6 votes to give out, but now you have the freedom to do what you want with those 6. The only condition which applies is no more than 3 votes can be given to one player (or coach) in either award. **

In the event of a Suns loss, you are also encouraged to vote for the Cactus of the game:

-3 votes for the player most responsible for the loss
-2 votes for the second most responsible
-1 for the third most responsible

Any votes with more than 3 players listed and not in the required format will not count. Voting will close before the start of the next Suns game.

After the thread closes, the votes will be tallied. The highest scoring total Sun gets 3 points, the next 2, and the third gets 1 point towards their season total. In the event of a tie in a count for a game, if the result of the game is a Suns win, a maximum of 4 players will be awarded points. A tie in the event of a loss will only result in a maximum of 3 players getting awarded points.

The player with the highest total at season's end wins the award!

The same applies for the Cactus of the Year, although of course the lowest tally at year's end takes it.

+3 Mike: Not the guy we want to be stepping up, but he scored when we needed it and didn't turn over the ball much.
+2 Chriss: Thought he did a good job on ZBo being physical without fouling. Didn't shoot well, but still found ways to contribute.
+1 Dragan: Not a great game by any means but he shot his shots and made some good hustle plays in the 4th quarter.

-1 Ulis: Too much pounding the ball, too many off balance shots, needs to get a lot stronger still. I still think he'll be a good back up once we have a team that can compete together and space the floor, but he's not a starter.
-2 TJ: Need better efficiency from him. Disappeared at the end too, we needed him to get the ball and make a play, but he wasn't able to get open for us.
-3 JJ: Defense was solid, but man he struggled on offense. He had a decent first half outside of a few turnovers, but that second half didn't go well for him. It's encouraging that he can get in the paint despite no one respecting his shot, the problem is that he is flat out not good at finishing with contact right now. I'm sure he improves with strength and experience, but that was a rough half.

+2 Dragan. Too bad they waived off one of his threes. It was great to see him finally hustling out there.
+1 Mike James.
+1 TJ Warren.
+1 Tyson Chandler. For hitting a jumper.
+1 Marquese Chriss. For showing some consistency on the glass.

-1 Josh Jackson. Has a long way to go.
-1 Alex Len. Bad hands have a tendency to interrupt an offense.
-2 Tyler Ulis. For a distributing point guard, he sure does look off open players a lot.
