Miami is 61-41 versus Charlotte in the regular season. We are 25-26 versus Charlotte in Charlotte in the regular season, 36-15 in Miami.
This season we are 2-0 versus Charlotte with 2 more games to play.
We are 8-6 in playoff matches winning 2 of our 3 series. The lone series won by Charlotte was 3-0 in 2001. We beat them 4-0 in 2014 and 4-3 in 2016 (man in purple helped us.)
We are 3-3 in the postseason in Charlotte, 5-3 in Miami.
A win in Charlotte is big because it begins our new winning streak, but its significance is greater because this game is a “scheduled loss” for our team.
Cheri Mah, a sleep consultant and research fellow at UCSF Human Performance Center, @Cheri_Mah, has this game pegged with a Mah score of 8.5.

The reasoning:
"Pardon the pun (or not), but this winter game ought to chill the Heat and then some. The schedule commands this be Miami's fifth game in seven days (vs. the Bucks, at the Bulls, at the Bucks, then at Brooklyn, before heading to Charlotte), their third game in four days, and the second of a back-to-back set with travel involved, no less. The schedule also commands that this will be the fourth straight road game for the Heat. They'll play in Milwaukee on Jan. 17, then head to Brooklyn -- losing an hour in the process -- to face the Nets on Jan. 19. And after facing those Nets, the Heat will head out that same night for Charlotte to duel the Hornets less than 24 hours later. Meanwhile, the Hornets will enter this game with a two-day rest advantage and will be on the fifth day of an 11-day homestand."
The Heat go into the game in Charlotte at 3-4 in the second games of back-to-back sets, losing in that situation earlier in the week in Chicago.
