Re: Game #50: Player of the Game #28 (Thunder @ Bullets)
this one is impossible. Morris was fantastic with his playmaking and help defense, Otto was his normal max contract self finally, Sato put the clamps on Westbrook all game long. Beal was the head of the snake.
im going Otto honestly, he was fantastic on both ends .

Westbrook had 46 last time.
Today he had 7 turnovers and shot 5-18.
Satoransky is my POTG.

Tre Johnson is the future of the Wizards.

Sato didn't score well, but he literally did everything else great. Giving it to him.

Tough one.
Gotta go with Otto.
But I liked Kieff’s game and Gortat was pretty dang good in the second half.

Gortat finally made some shots... and his defense was actually better in the 2nd too

I honestly cant decide. I almost did a double-take when I saw Otto put up 25. Quietly scoring like his old self. Beal looked nigh unstoppable driving the lane and setting guys up. Are we absolutely certain that was Markieff?
I gotta give it to Sato though. Beal's chasedown block on Westbrook was nice but SATO'S WAS INSANITY. He played Westy perfectly.
Who has this team playing like this now? I don't wanna look at the game thread and see "hurr we are better without Wall" because thats BS. We are playing better all over the place. Everyone is hustling. Everyone is making moves on offense. We only missed 2 mother fartin' free throws WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME THAT HAPPENED?
Only areas I can fault is rebounding. Thats literally it. We played like our normal selves just with the hustle dialed up to 11. Are the guys seeing John going for surgery and thinking "damn we need to work now?"

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

John's absence might have spurred a sense of urgency.

This is an extremely hard choice. It feels like that, by awarding POTG to one player, I'm insulting the others.
Everybody was good, but I think it ultimately boils down to Porter and Sato. Porter was our best offensive player and Sato was our best defender. I'm going to go with Sato. I think the tone he sets with unselfish play on offense and relentless energy on defense is contagious.

Wall has a negative effect on the team from a leadership perspective and we all know it. He can say whatever he wants in the locker room, but it h goes out there and chucks 18ft stepbacks with 15 on the shotclock and watches his team play 4 on 5 on defense, no one else is going to feel inspired to play hard.

Otto - but it was fun to watch all our guys play well.
Otoh, it was weird to see Scott shoot 3-10.

PIF, you enjoyed watching Mahinmi miss wide open layups??

I'm a big believer that this is at least on the list of reasons we look like a different team (in most areas).
