GT #60: Philadelphia 76ers @ Wizards 8:00 PM (ESPN/NBCSW/1500 AM)

Post#1 » by Kanyewest » Sun Feb 25, 2018 9:54 pm

The Washington Wizards could not manage to beat the Charlotte Hornets as the Wizards 3 game winning streak ended. The Hornets have been playing with more desperation than the Wizards since they fired their GM Rich Cho. Washington appeared to be complacent after a surprising win (at least according to Chris Webber) against the Cavaliers. Maybe the win against LeBron got to their heads and didn't take a Hornets team seriously which had already beaten the Wizards multiple times. It was also the 3rd straight game where the Wizards fell behind by double digits in the first quarter and ultimately the Wizards were bound to lose a game where they started off poorly; Scott Brooks cussing you out at half time can only get you so far.

The Philadelphia 76ers are playing well and haven't lost a game since the Philadelphia Eagles won the Super Bowl. The 76ers are indeed trusting the process as Joel Embiid is a matchup nightmare for most NBA teams. No one in the Wizards starting lineup has had much success guarding Ben Simmons either. While the new look Wizards are 8-3 with Satoransky in the starting lineup, the Wizards have also failed to beat the this 76ers team twice without Wall, although both of those losses came on the road and Beal only played 23 minutes in a 5 point loss due to an injury.

Ultimately, for the Wizards to come out with a win the Wizards have to do a better job defensively. In each of their 3 matchups, the Wizards have given up at least 115 points. Washington must avoid careless turnovers.

Here was the last time the Wizards beat the 76ers which was the opening night of the season.

Let's get back to sharing the ball. Less of Beal thinking he's James Harden.

We might win this one. And if we do, we should enjoy the heck out of it. It may be the last time we beat the Sixers for quite some time.

They are seriously ascendant.

Agree huge game. Though Sixers rested their starters for most of the 4th quarter against the Magic yesterday during the blowout. And Sixers game was early yesterday at 5pm. They shouldn’t have tired legs.

My fear is that Philadelphia is just too tall and too talented. Washington has problems containing stretch bigs. This being an ESPN game will give Philadelphia all the juice in the world.

Hopefully, they had good practices after getting crushed by Charlotte.

They were "so Wizards" last game... but they usually don't play badly back-to-back.

This would be a great game for the passing to pick the 76ers apart.

I hope they are overconfident.

They showed Joel Embiid eating a burger a little while ago.

Why not have Sato start on Simmons, i feel like his energy and hustle would make it tougher for him to get to wherever he wants.

Morris is such an idiot, every damn game with these stupid fouls for and 1s when he's beaten and not in position to deliver a foul that prevents a shot.

Return to Washington Wizards
