Record vs over .500 / under .500 teams

Post#1 » by lobosloboslobos » Sat Mar 17, 2018 4:27 am

So I just noticed these stats. Sort of a good news bad news deal.

Raps against under .500 teams are an astounding 31-2 on the season
Raps against over. 500 teams are a very respectable 21-15

However over in the western conference where there are more over .500 teams the Rocket and Warriors are ridiculous

Rockets are an incredible 31-10 against over .500 teams
Warriors are an also amazing 29-12 against over .500 teams

Just saying we will have our work cut out for us if we ever do get to the finals. Those are some pretty insane records. Luckily we do have the best home record in the league tho, which will hopefully be huge in the playoffs

Raptors have a lot of close losses against over .500 teams....the record is not as bad as it seems.

With the way the injuries are going in GS we might just have home court against the Warriors in the finals. We are now tied.

So you’re also saying that both of their records against sub .500 teams is 23-4.

I guess this means we are less high variance, likely because of the consistency of demars mid range game as opposed to harden and the splash bros living by the 3

We have the third best record against 0.500 or above.

The first half of the season we lost some tough ones against better teams. I chalk that up as this team learning how to play this style. @okc, was, @bos, @sas, uta, were loss that stickout against above average teams where we just fell apart and resorted to old tactics

Cool, they lost to Sac at home last night, then flew to Phoenix for a game tonight and still all hurt. Go Suns Go!

That's why we need 7 games + home court to get our series wins. We' re better than most good teams, but not by that much.

I see people bragging about this stat. But while it's good, I'd rather lose the other day vs the Mavs and win today vs OKC. If I had to choose

Let's get to the playoffs and see how we play, then let's talk about meeting Houston or Golden State

You want to know you can stand up to the big boys.

Care less about sleep walking through the Mavericks.

So they are both wins, nothing changes in the playoffs if we are the same team, but for your own peace of mind then. Ok. Odd that it matters at all.

A win over the Cavaliers is more valuable than a win over Atlanta, for example.

Yes, a win is a win, but beating LeBron is a bigger accomplishment.
