NBA Finals: Warriors @ Cavaliers Game 3

Post#1 » by floppymoose » Tue Jun 5, 2018 8:37 am

Last year Warriors were in a similar situation. They had won the first two games of the finals against the Cavs at home, and now had to face them in Cleveland for game 3. The Cavs played strong at home, and then.... this:

Why would I change from last year's finals game 3 girl, Yeorum?????
Image

She's found the treatment for Iggy's leg issues, and now he's all better.
Image

Her game plan: take Lebron's heart and eat it.
Image

Also, Kendrick Perkins.... do not piss her off.

Iggy looking good for game 3. Just want to see him dialed in defensively so entire team keeps that edge on the road.

Disappointed there is no gif of Lebron during OT in game 1 when he was completely breaking down after Lue said he had 1 TO Floppy.

Image

The question of the game is going to be
"Can the Warriors come back from 15 after half time?" Expect the Cavs and LeBron to come out swinging in the first quarter and run a lax Warrior team out the gym. The question is is the lead too big by that time and can they come back like vs the Houston series? Another point is that Steph tends to have 1 awful game per finals in the last 3, including his amazing one last year. So, curious to see how he plays. I'd much rather he plays the composed game 1 where it was less "pretty" and demoralizing, but he was shooting better and kept the TOs low. Expecting someone out of Korver, JR, TT, etc to really step up and ball out in game 3 as role players generally do. Maybe even more. Love has been balling out offensively and on the boards, I really wish he was tamed a bit but not expecting that to slow down when he goes home. Curious if Iggy plays. Expecting Klay to drop a solid 20, and KD could be anything between 25 to 35 depending how he's feeling. Really hope he plays like game 2 which was a flat out amazing game from him.

One final thing:
Do not get killed on the boards and keep the TOs 15 or lower overall.

Just like WCF game 7, there will be foul trouble.

Guaranteed.

Steph, Klay and Dray will get up to 3 fouls each QUICK.

I hope KD can help carry the team for long stretches.

If we can get 15 minutes from Iggy, that will be huge to helping out our rotations, especially if we do get into foul trouble. If he can guard LeBron for 15 minutes, that's valuable time that KD doesn't need to burn his energy guarding him and Draymond can play free safety on defense.

Game 3 is going to be a tough one to win in Cleveland with the Cavs down 2-0 and facing the reality of losing LeBron again. The Warriors are going to need to withstand the early energy the Cavs will no doubt bring and play through the whistles. Draymond needs to play with tech-count awareness. I wonder if the 9:00 EST start time is tough on the players? Seems so late to tip off.

I expect the Cavs to come out with a lot of energy and intensity. They will be hustling for every 50-50 ball. I also expect they will be extremely physical, including some potentially "questionable" tactics, to try and get under the skin of Draymond, KD, and Steph (primarily when he is off-ball) to take them off their normal game and perhaps pick up a technical. Dubs will need to keep their cool and continue to play their game. If the Warriors just play their game, their talent should be able to overcome the Cavs' talent.

We're going to smash them. They can't guard Curry without Kyrie tiring him out on the other end, and Bron isn't dropping 50 on us again - especially if Iggy plays.

I think the Cavs win by 20 and the LeBron fans go nuts. I think the Warriors don't focus well in games they don't need to win. The Warriors don't need this game. The Cavs will out work the Warriors and the Warriors will play lazy ISO ball; but it is all OK because the Warriors will still win the series in 5 games.

I hope that Steph has found the groove and the rythm finally and he will rip those salty hearts out and shimmy with them in his hands.

This one should be close and might be the only one Cleveland pulls out this series.

Agreed. Will be close, and I wouldn't be surprised to drop this game. Of course, I wouldn't be surprised to see the W's win, also. Could go either way, seems to me. I'm not going to sweat it if we drop this game, though. What I really want to see is the W's continue to ramp up their game. If the Cavs play a great game and take one, so be it. If the W's continue to pull things together and play with the requisite urgency, there's no way the Cavs can take the series.
