This is big. Other than the signing of Thomas Bryant this is the best move Ernie has ever made as a General Manager.

I'm done. He basically replaces Scott in rotation so you know what that means.

I know Jeff Green has become something of a punch line in the league these days, but I actually think this is not such a bad signing. Green was actually pretty decent last season with Cleveland. Statistically, he was a bit better than Mike Scott going by WS/48, PER, BPM and VORP, and Green is probably a slightly better defender as well (damning with faint praise, I know). He's a worse rebounder, however. And Cleveland was an outlier year. He was considerably worse the two years prior.

Overall, he is capable of filling the Mike Scott role just as well as Mike Scott, for the cost of Mike Scott. I can't hate that.

Not great, but it's an ok deal for the vet minimum.

Well, I overreacted. He's ok player but I really wanted to see more small ball next year. Of course anything's possible like Kevin Garnett said.

The good: Fantastic offensive efficiency last year.

The Bad: He hasn't been able to shoot the three for like 5 years, which is an awkward fit for us.

Yup, it's a lateral move at best.

On the other hand, he always seems to kill us when he plays us so I'm glad he's on the team now.

Strange thing is, he is a great athlete with good body control/touch and shoots 80% from the line... seems like the perfect candidate for a guy to become better 3 pt shooter in the latter part of his career... odd

- Former Georgetown star. Might play better close to home.
- Previously coached by Scott Brooks in OKC where Green was improving up until the point he got traded in his rookie contract.
- Green is coming off a career year in terms of scoring efficiency- 59 TS%. Only 1 percentage point behind Mike Scott (probably because Scott shot 65% from the free throw line!)
- His defensive #s look bad but could just be because he was playing with a bad defensive team- eye test suggests Green was at least an average defender.
- It is a minimum contract. Slight negative it is one year with no team option but overall not a bad signing.
