Wiz Bulls & Kings - Perfect fit
Simple...
Wiz: Need to cut salary/get out of tax
Bulls: Need future flexibility
Kings: Need 2019 pick
The Wizards will take on future salary to cut salary now and the Bulls will take on salary now to cut future salary. The Kings help take on current salary to get a pick and further build out their young core.
Wiz out: Mahinmi, Rivers & 2019 1st
Wiz In: Felicio & Holiday
Bulls out: Felicio & Holiday
Bulls In: Rivers & McLemore
Kings out: McLemore
Kings In: Mahinmi & 2019 1st
http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=ycvbb87r
Why?
- The Wiz take on salary in out years and give up pick to drastically cut cost this year w/o getting worse
- Bulls get out of Felicio contract and open up cap space each of the next two years w/o getting worse
- Kings take on Mahinmi contract for top 25 pick in 2019 draft.
Whats missing?
- While the trade is the correct direction for all teams, the kings might need a slight incentive to make it. The Bulls are definitely winning in this deal as they take on 5M this year to cut 16M over the next two and dont downgrade in talent...
- Need an asset or some value to move from Bulls to Kings... not sure how to make that happen w/o a 4th team
Thoughts?

Yeah I think Mahinmi straight for Felicio and filler like Holiday makes sense. Maybe Wiz toss a 2nd or 2.

Just to point out, you have Rivers in Chicago's incoming but not in Washington's outgoing. I was confused how the Wizards were getting out of the tax!

Yep, Chicago should definitely be adding value and it should be going to the Kings. I think the Wizards should be adding some additional value to the Kings as well. They are saving a ton of money, and getting back a useful wing for very very cheap here.

He's on the trade machine link
Almost every Bulls trade that gets posted does them no good and makes no sense. Until now. Shedding Felicio is almost always the goal but not taking back more centers is normally not considered. This returns to the Bulls a PG who may be better the C Payne or at least will push him behind Dunn. McLemore may not have the chance to play many minutes but he would be a serviceable backup to Lavine and could play in case of injury.
Bulls Yes, everybody else I don't know

So Bulls need to up the ante. Portis or Valentine seem to be the obvious move

Re: Wiz Bulls & Kings - Perfect fit
I wouldnt touch Washingtons part of this deal, Mahinmi and Felicio are similar future money (and similarly useless) and the first covers the massive savings this year.
Chicago however needs more. I think Valentine to Kings might be a good fit. still feels a little sweet for them.

yeah, I feel the Wiz are giving up a little much, but as Wiz fan I didnt want to overplay our hand to start the topic.
Also, Felicio maybe useless, but Mahinmi is not. Overpaid, oh yeah, but far from useless.
Maybe send Valentine to the Kings and a 2nd from the Kings to the Wiz.

Re: Wiz Bulls & Kings - Perfect fit
Felicio is not long term savings to the Wiz though he may help them cut some costs this year. With Wall's supermax kicking in, we not only need savings this year but future savings and we aren't getting it here. Therefore, that's not worth a 1st to a team with major future cost issues who needs the cost controlled rookie deals. Valentine would be at best the 4th wing and possibly 5th behind Beal, Porter, Oubre and possibly Satoransky if they don't make him exclusively a PG so he's not that valuable an asset either.
No from my Wiz point of view.
No from my Wiz point of view.

Re: Wiz Bulls & Kings - Perfect fit
What about this:
Wiz out: Mahinmi, Smith, Meeks, 2019 1st
Wiz In: Felicio, Holiday, Portis
Wiz stretch Felicio, which I think gets them under the tax.
Bulls out: Felicio, Holiday, Portis, Valentine
Bulls In: Shump, BMac, Smith, Meeks
Kings out: McLemore, Shump
Kings In: Mahinmi, 2019 1st, Valentine
Wiz out: Mahinmi, Smith, Meeks, 2019 1st
Wiz In: Felicio, Holiday, Portis

Bulls out: Felicio, Holiday, Portis, Valentine
Bulls In: Shump, BMac, Smith, Meeks
Kings out: McLemore, Shump
Kings In: Mahinmi, 2019 1st, Valentine

IMHO the 2019 1st is enough for Washington to shed a year of Mahinmi, that's about the going rate. I think the Kings are entitled to more in the OP because they are also absorbing most of Mahinmi's 2018 salary, sending out only McLemore. If the Kings also get to dump Shumpert, thereby taking on hardly any current salary, then they should not be entitled to receive extra compensation in the form of Valentine; it should be one or the other.

Makes sense. Valentine gave me trouble because I think Bulls need more than Portis to dump Felicio, but Val to WAS was too much for them.
