It's all Julio's fault

Post#1 » by atlantabbq99 » Fri Sep 7, 2018 1:20 pm

The Phily lose is all Julio's fault. If he is complaining about a pay raise and then is given one, he now has to take responsibility for all the loses the Falcons get. Receiving yards don't matter any more, he has to catch touchdowns. His inability to do anything on 3rd and goal show is failure as a player and leader.

Nah...this falls on the QB and O-Coordinator.

Code: Select all

Julio Jones is an absolute freak of nature. He was the best player on the field last night bar none. The problem was none of the other weapons showed up. Aside from a few key first-down catches, Mohamed Sanu was absent. First-round pick, Calvin Ridley literally did not catch a ball. The versatile duo of Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman only caught four passes out of the backfield for 40 yards.

Julio was targeted 19 times, caught 10 balls for 169 of the Falcons 251 yards receiving.

Matt Ryan looked atrocious throughout Thursday night’s contest.

It started on the Falcons’ very first drive, which also ended in a goal-line stand, when Ryan missed running back Devonta Freeman on a makeable pass in the end zone.

Ryan has thrown eight interceptions in the red zone since 2015 – most in the NFL.

Furthermore, his chemistry with Jones when they get down to the goal line is abysmal. According to ESPN research, Ryan is just 1-for-20 in connecting with Jones on red zone passes, including playoffs, in the post-Shanahan era.

Just 1-for-20. With Julio?

I already knew this, this is why i posted this last July...

I was concern and flat out worried that Julio held out and MISSED PRACTICE! I said it last year that the chemistry is not their, and this falls totally on the shoulders on Julio, because it was him that elected not to go to practice and work on the play calling, timing, and red zone with Ryan.

Julio complained like a baby about his pay and they gave him his pay raise so now he has a target on his back and now he has to man up and not only get stats (which i don't care about at this point) but get WINS.

With that said, i also know that the first five games of the season don't matter. its the teams that win the last ten games of the regular season that win the super bowl. It is kind of good that a team gets knocked down early in the season, it makes them mad, and they learns from the mistakes and then goes 10-0 at the end of the season and goes into the playoffs hot. Its like in boxing where its actually ok to lose the first round and the 3rd round on up are the most important.
