Should the Packers trade for Bell?

Post#1 » by titlebound1 » Wed Sep 12, 2018 6:50 pm

Read an article on NFL.com. Why not make this happen? Two first round picks and they have a pretty solid back to replace him with. Rodgers has never had a weapon like Bell. You would have to think that they would give him the money that he wants if it means pairing the two best players in the league at their position. Thoughts?

Hell **** no. Two 1st round picks for a RB?

Just wait until Jones gets back and use him.

2 suspensions, MCL tear, sports hernia, wants huge money, give up draft picks.

No way.

Here's a question:

You know you'll only get him from week 10 until whenever you're ousted from the Playoffs. What's the highest pick you're offering at the deadline? I don't really know what it might be but I know it's something.

Kind of depends on what the record is and how Jones looks once he's back. I guess like a 3rd or 4th would be tops for me.

A 3rd is probably the floor of what Pittsburgh would consider if their season cratered and they were already out of the playoff hunt by the deadline. If they simply let him walk next year they should get a 3rd back in a comp pick.... well I guess by some peoples logic then they should jump on that 3rd round offer since they get it a year early so it's worth a whole round higher than the comp pick :)

Bells trade value is way less than you think. I would be absolutely shocked if anyone would even offer up a 2nd.

Also - we don't exactly know how much $$ the dude thinks he should get. David Johnson's getting like 13 mil a year. Bell made a tweet about wanting Khalil Mack type $$ which is never going to happen

For the record I would offer a 3rd and pay him 18 mil a year in about 2 seconds. He would completely change our offense for the better

Yeah let me clarify my original post. I was making a point about us having a surplus of high picks. I was not suggesting that we send both or even 1 first. I can't imagine his value is that high right now

Pretty sure the combination of our running backs were nearly the same, if not better than Bell's production last year.

Give me Jones and Jamaal on rookie deals vs Bell as the highest paid RB in the league or close to it, and with a **** of mileage.

1300 yds rushing and 9 tds with 80+ catches for 655 yds and two tds. I don't think the packers rbs came close.

I'd only give a 4th and use as a rental. Let him sign elsewhere and get a comp pick

The rushing is kind of bumped up by how amazing Jones was, but still, the point remains that we're in a relatively good spot at RB atm.

That's some interesting stats to think about and I initially thought this wasn't close either (Bell having better stats).

With that said. I read an article about the Lions making a move for Bell and how it would be a good idea for them. That would worry me.

With respect to GB, Bell wouldn't make sense. To much money and the stats show not much of a difference. Although I think the defensive gameplan by the opposing team changes significantly with Bell on the field vs Williams/Jones/Mont.

A big Detroit weakness for years (since Sanders retired) has been RB. I would hate it they got Bell. But they might feel the need to make a move given their waxing Monday night.
