Bye Week and Rams Lead Up
Nice to get a bye. Get some boys back healthy. Rams are going to be tough.

Tony Brown should be cut today.
Why should you go to jail for a crime someone else noticed? You don't need double talk... You need Bob Loblaw.

If packers lost, would have been a perfect time to clean house with mccarthy. unfortunately rodgers went goat again.
Packers need to learn to cover, tackle, get open, protect the qb in the next 13 days.

Re: Bye Week and Rams Lead Up
Question - is there an advance statistic that shows how open receivers get for quarterbacks? I am watching all of these other teams (LA, NE, San fran vs GB, Philly, etc), and their offense have guys running wide open. Yet rodgers seems to have to thread the needle about 75 percent of the time. I'd like to see if I am blind and off base with my analysis.

The snap count from last night is even more disgusting. 19 snaps for Jones, and he was outsnapped by both Williams & Montgomery.
Once MM is inevitably canned, pin the weekly RB snap count sheets on his headstone.

lol, they weren't going to fire MM in-season. Even though, I agree, they should have if they ended up losing the game yesterday.

Glad we won, but this team is majorly under performing this year so far. We have not had a very tough schedule to start the year and we look slightly better than average. They better figure **** out during the bye or this is going to be a grind of a season

If they can somehow split the next two they'll be in good shape.... If not it's going to be roughM-C-G wrote:Glad we won, but this team is majorly under performing this year so far. Hopefully the next time the packers play, the brewers will be WS champs and I won't give a crap when they get blown out by the Rams and Pats.

I get Montgomery at RB in hurry up time because he's a better receiver (we could also get him on the field as a WR more), but Williams is tanking the offense. The opposing defense has no fear of him at all.

I'm proud of myself for being the first one to point out that Williams sucks.

Yeah...he's basically the second coming of Brandon Jackson. Which is fine as a 3rd RB on the depth chart, or even as a 3rd down back because of his pass protection and ability to catch the ball out of the backfield. But how he gets more snaps than Jones and even Montgomery, for that matter, is asinine.
It feels like McCarthy has gotten even more stubborn (if that's even possible) later in his coaching career.

I mean, he doesn't suck. He just has no business getting carries over Jones.

He's 33rd out of 47 in YPA among qualified RBs this year and was 38th out of 48 last year. He really sucks. No, I don't particularly care how good he is as a blocker.

Agreed not sure why Williams is viewed as any sort of good or valuable. Guy has to be one of the worst starting running backs in the NFL. No vision, speed or wiggle and seems to run into the back of his oline a lot. He’s almost like the next generation Kuhn.
He should be third on depth chart and only see the field when there are injuries.

Great question. It often feels like they run 10 - 15 yards in a straight line and then just sort of turn their heads to see if Rodgers is scrambling.
Edit: Found this -
Average Separation (SEP)
The distance (in yards) measured between a WR/TE and the nearest defender at the time of catch or incompletion
https://nextgenstats.nfl.com/stats/receiving#average-separation
Says Exxon Valdes - Scandling does pretty well. Allison is sort of decent too. I don't know how accurate this is. Be interesting to see this as a team stat.

Of course you don't. Aaron Rodgers does

Re: Bye Week and Rams Lead Up
Actually Rodgers has mentioned that he believes they need to get Jones the ball more. In fact I believe that Rodgers said watch out for this kid before he even got a regular season snap last. He also compared him to a faster Ryan Grant. Saying Jones is the best runner they have had since Grant. So I think we know who Rodgers would start.
Bucks fandom bringing me happiness still seems like a dream.

If Rodgers wants another blocker putting Lewis around the field either lined up as a TE or in the backfield with Jones also on the field would be an infinitely better option.
