International League pass from Brazil

Post#1 » by Mike Rowsoft » Wed Oct 17, 2018 11:00 pm

Hello guys,

I'm in Brazil right now and normally live in France.
The full NBA league pass is priced there at 89,99 USD at the moment for the whole year.
A question : if I buy this, will I be able to still watch it from France wihout the need of a VPN ?

Also, for Raptors games, which broadcast team will I get? Local one or visiting team one?

Thank you guys.

PS : sorry, searched on the internet did not found anything recent and specific...

All I know is I live in Asia, and used to share LP with a friend in Canada, this is like 5 years ago. I forget who was paying for it, and he was blacked out from live games, but from 2 different countries we could log in and watch (at different times obviously), so I doubt there would be something stopping you. Think of all the people who travel on business having LP and there would seem to be a common sense answer there. So I think they only care if you're in a blackout area, or not.

You can choose which broadcast team you want to watch, it will give you a choice from home, visitor, or national US if that's an option.

I paid for the India LP which was like $22 or something. I had no problems logging in with a VPN server in Mexico, but recently I have had to log in with an INDIAN vpn. You can disconnect the VPN after starting the stream to increase speed but super annoying. Meh

Thanks guys for sharing your experience. So far I must admit that it may depend on the country you buy it from... I ordered it for from Brazil while it was showing the 89,99$ price, but chose France where they asked about the country. Can they charge me French price? They only will charge one week after...

I don't know if NBA LP in Brazil and France have the same pricing. This is what I know: pricing is different especially in India

Regardless, you could still watch games wherever you are depending on broadcasting rights. That being said, you might get a blackout if you watch a game that happens to be locally televised in the country you're in.

Hey guys, bringing this topic back at top to tell you from experience, as it is not very usual to do it, I'll do it so any other person having the same questions can have some answers.

So first off, I asked nba.com via e-mail contact about my situation, and they told me there is absolutely no issue and that my pass will work anywhere.

So I tried and yes it is true, it works!
Final price was 89,99 US$.

Watching Raptors game easily with the pass, so a very good investment for me!

Yeah ...pricing the cost of LP based on where you live and how affluent the country is... is just damn awful.

I bought the India one, am very happy with that. Need to find a better VPN service though for connecting through there.

It should work fine because I was able use it when I was in Cuba, but I don't know if Europe is different.

I went with India as well, so far no issues. Went with a paid VPN service since my past free options sucked, used a discount code I found online that only cost me $40 for two years, seems to work great.
