Even with all the injuries, I really like our matchups in this one. Probably the toughest one is Murray vs Young but I'll still take Murray on that one too. I'll certainly take our bench over the Hawks' bench.

These injuries are taking a toll on our bench although we may actually get to see Brandon Goodwin play, that would be interesting. Can see a lot of small ball tonight

Well, three things stood out in my opinion (beyond that fact that we only played 8 players).

1. Jokic only had 7 assists and that means there wasn't much movement on offense.

2. Denver won the 1st quarter and lost the other three quarters.

3. We may love our bench but playing against the team with the worst record in the league, they proved that collectively they are not ready to start in the NBA - at least not as key players. But they do make a nice bench. <Let's hope our starters are back soon.>

I did love Hernangomez's stat line of 5-12 w/3-7 from 3 plus 10 rebounds in 40 minutes and will give him credit for having proved his value as a potential significant player.

No matter how many players are injured, losing vs league-worst team after +15 early lead is unacceptable. The same team which we beat +45 four weeks ago.

Murray is injured at one point, and depending on the injury he should play or not play in the rest of the game, instead of playing limited minutes, so the team didn't get note worth help from Jamal, and his injury is maybe worsed. I expected from Lyles some last season attitude to play much better when he has a starter role and big minutes guaranteed, but he answered with another disaster 2-13 shooting game, which means his deep slump is for real. And Lyles not ruined only our offense tonight, but opponent young PF John Collins looked like true all-star in a PF's match-up which decided the winner tonight.

And talking about bad attitudes, I think Malone decision to sit-down Jokic and Murray 8 minutes before the end at -13 was pathetic, it not we playing against Golden State and have a must-win game very next day. 4 minutes before the end result is still -10 active, remember opening night when Nuggets in last 6 minutes overturn game from -8 to +9 against Clippers, by far better team than Hawks.

Back-to-back nightmare for Nuggets, lets hope that Murray injury is nothing serious and that Harris will back as soon as possible.

4-24 in last two losses. Think Mitchell is going to score 50 tonight to put more salt in my wound.

4-24 is Trey Lyles shooting in these two games. Mitchell will haunt me simply because

Most of the NBA by-passed Mitchell - not just the Nuggets.
Michael Jordan was selected 3rd. Draft is a crap shoot.
Mitchell is a different player than Harris but Denver didn't need Mitchell.
Everyone needs to grow up and forget that whole thing - it's really no big deal.

Disagree. Denver didn't need Mitchell who is already better player than Harris? I could agree it is useless to hate on Lyles because who he was traded for. The actual reason for hating Lyles is that he is black hole with no bball iq who shoots everytime he touches the ball while he is just not able to make anything. Can't guard anyone, can't pass. I talk about Morris as the ultimate "no nonsence guy." Trey is "just nonsence" guy.

Interesting take - Hollinger's PER rating

251 Malik Monk
252 Fred VanVleet
253 Evan Fournier
254 Yabusele
255 Shumpert
256 Lyles
257 De'Anthony Melton
258 Bobby Portis
260 Terry Rozier

and while those aren't superstars, they are some players with value.

You need to let go of the Mitchell thing. If Denver hadn't traded their pick, they almost certainly would have taken Anunoby. Mitchell wasn't even being discussed.

But you hate Lyles for it but was it HIS fault or the FO who made the trade. Such stupid animosity toward Lyles

I think that the animosity comes from what's he (not) doing on the court, rather than from "what could've happened if..." overthinking.

Then again, since Maf is such a Broncos fan - maybe he's taking out his frustrations on the Nuggets.

Personally, the disappointment in Lyles has nothing to do with what that guy in Utah may or may not be doing.
We need a PF that will produce, and with Lyles, sometimes we do not get a PF that will produce.

Then again, even superstars have off-games --- look at Lowry's recent struggles. Look at Jokic's recent 3pt shooting. There are more examples. If a team lives or dies by a backup PF, they aren't going to have a good season and make no mistake, Lyles is a backup PF - a nice one sometimes and less so other times (sort of like so many players).
