Expirings are the new rage

Tanking teams want of them and upper teams want them. Look at what Washington just did with giving away Porcher for expiring‘s. It’s amazing I would’ve loved to see order here if we were in a different circumstance. We need to be really patient and conscious with our upcoming 2020 Expiring’s after next year if we don’t get rid of them right now.

Maybe, but lately teams have been doing ton of one year deals (look at the Lakers, Clippers, etc) or two year deals where the second year isn't guaranteed. Smart teams have been doing this for a while. Its part of the reason the Mavs gave Jordan a big deal that was only for one year, because they knew teams would be making moves for the summer to clear space and they used it to help land Porzingas. I think smart teams have been giving out more team friendly contracts like that for a while now. They are less valuable now then they used to be when contracts were longer, but in the right year they can be valuable. What's even more valuable perhaps is cap space and the ability to take more $ in salary in trades. So many teams up against luxury tax walls or wanting to move a player but not take back bad contracts.

Most teams sign guys to 2 or 3 year deals. Sometimes the 2nd year isn’t guaranteed. Svg went too far. Pistons need to fix this or we’ll always be stuck in idle

I've seen people on diff pistons forums say how all those expirings are going to be assets next season. They dont realize its going to be a historically bad free agent class.
