The second last Detroit play that Reggie Jackson hit a 3 in the corner was on Coach Malone. He had Barton (who was guarding Jackson) in the game instead of Craig. He also had Jokic in there for some reason instead of Plumlee. Simple mistakes like that in the playoffs would hurt a ton.

Jamal Murray could of easily had 40+ points today but he only went 1-1 in the 3rd quarter.

I hate seeing Gary Harris just playing the catch and shoot role. I miss all those Jokic handoffs, I only see 1-2 a game. Man, I hate Barton.

What an unnecessary drama in 4th from +20 to boozer shot for overtime!? We used to be NBA best team in a 4th quarter this season, but this is 3rd straight where we lose a final quarter, 2nd in double-digits. Talking more about "I want my old Denver Nuggets back", this is the first time in the last 15 months Denver played back-to-back under-100 games. And also Jokic technically has great 23-15-2 numbers tonight, but he was not point-center today, the role which much better suits to our team. Instead of routine, blowout win after +27 on the halftime, we scored under-30 points in the whole 2nd half (I have no time now to research is such thing ever before happens to Nuggets in this century), so the reason why we didn't lose this game is a good defense and fantastic Murray. Jamal first over-30 pts game in the past 10 weeks followed by great 12-19 efficiency and team-best 5 assists. OK, Millsap and Plumlee (with double-doubles both) deserved some credit too, and 27-9 first quarter was just awesome.

We can't afford these types of collapses in the playoffs especially when we're playing at home otherwise, HCA would've easily gone to waste.

1st quarter - great defense
2nd quarter - great offense
3rd quarter - great sleeping
4th quarter - pathetic
But it was a win! The Nuggets do tend to play to the level of their opponent, even if it's a team in the 5th game of a road trip!

How many times did Hastings & Marlow say, "Griffin turning on his left arm"? But the Nuggets couldn't stop him, even as predictable as he was.

Three minutes to go in the third period, Barton was open in the corner and never got the ball. He just stood there and watched as everyone ran to the other end. Next time on offense, he forced a shot in traffic and missed then he forced another shot in traffic and made the shot - not a team player (this was just one more example).

Only eight Nuggets played.

Why did the offense go from Murray/Jokic with ball movement in the 1st half to Barton being the PG and not passing the ball to Murray or anybody really in the 2nd half? Murray was hot and should have had a ton more touches.

No Surprise but the only one on the roster that can guard Griffin is Millsap, he did well on him, Plumlee was terrible and Jokic could not do anything to stop him on the perimeter.

I am now starting to turn on Malone again, his overuse of Barton and allowing Barton to do as he wants while not allowing young guys to play through mistakes has reminded me why we wanted him fired a few months ago and why I have doubts that this team is anything more than a 2nd round team with him as coach.

Malone likes Barton with the ball

Hmm, might have been a good idea to try Vanderbilt?

Yeah, I'll give Malone some credit for this year but he still makes some crazy decisions that seem to have no logic. To a large extent, I give credit to the players for their personal improvement as they mature. Clearly the greatest offense the Nuggets have is to throw the ball to Jokic at the top of the lane and then move. If Malone understood that, the Nuggets wouldn't be standing around like statues all the time - either that or the players are ignoring him if that is what he is telling them to do. (((I suspect it is Malone's desire to control everything and call plays. Letting the Nuggets free-lance around Jokic doesn't "prove" what a great coach he is. But that's just my opinion and I've been wrong before.)))
