I think he'll get the full MLE.

I think he'll end up signing for the qualifying offer. I don't see Sac signing him long term or outright renouncing him.

I think he is worth 12 to 15 per year. He has a unique skill set and can really be huge as a deefender. I feel no one will offer him big money until he develops a 3 point shot though. I could see him wanting more than teams offer and him playing for the QO. I would take a chance on him though if I had cap space 4/48 or something. The Marcus Smart of bigs?...maybe that’s off base a bit :).

A 3 point shot? Good lord his shooting regressed and he couldn’t hit free throws or shots more than 10 ft out. He also doesn’t block shots or rebound particularly well. The Kings will likely extend the qualifying offer and renounce it if they can get Vucevic or someone to come.

I will second this with a fury. Anyone who doesn’t normally watch him is going to be sorely disappointed if they expect a guy who plays like he’s described. The only above average skills that he has are athleticism, lob catching, and length. With that said, those two things can help immensely in a basketball game. He does a terrific job switching and sticking onto perimeter players. The issue is that he will let the perimeter player get the first step past his shoulder and then somehow not block a 6’1 player attempting a layup. You could argue that the right coaching could fix this and I would caution you that he doesn’t seem to have much work ethic or the right motivations. The eye test will tell you that he’s probably the most inconsistent player in the league. He doesn’t box out and he has a very stiff, predictable offensive game. His jump shot is not so good as well.

Could Willie turn it around and actually be a good starting center? Sure, but he has so many issues and it really starts with his mind. Does he really actually like his job and the game of basketball? I’m not so sure he does and if I’m right, he won’t improve much at all.

I just don't see whos paying him more than 3mil~

Dedmon, Baynes, Robin Lopez, Brook Lopez, Cousins, Chandler, Gasol, Gibson, Deandre, Noel, Vucevic, Boban are all free agents and better than him. Combine that with not many people needing centers... I wouldn't be surprised to see some of these guys forced to take minimum contracts to stay around.

This IMO is closer to the truth

He’s not good

It’s very questionable if the Kings even extend him the QO.

In the end I see him being paid minimally

Anyone who gives him more than a 2/15 2nd year team option will regret it.

Nurkic got 4/48 with a partial guarantee on the 4th year. Willie isn't worth that much. so it will be a MLE or Below deal.. I suspect he'll get a short deal close to MLE money. 2/16 with the second year being a PO.

China. There are way too many centers better than him available in a buyers market.

He’s definitely not at that point. While I am very critical of him, I do recognize that he has NBA value and can be a plus if used correctly (likely in a bench role).
