I think he will get slightly above the MLE.
He’s in the Beverly/Collisin tier. There are only a few teams who need starting PGs that have cap. Chi or Phx maybe?

Randle and Cousins won't get near that much. The center market is already saturated with overpaid guys.

It's pretty much Chicago or Phoenix for Rubio, at least for anything over MLE money. Which could push him down to MLE money.

I could see Cousins getting a big deal like that, if it's very short. Very team friendly, make good type offer. I really don't have a good handle on Randle, but he has improved quite a bit and is still pretty young. I could see some team taking a chance on him with that kind of money.
I mean, I could be wrong, but those number don't stand out as terribly unlikely to me.

As far as Rubio goes, I won't be terribly shocked to see him playing in a different league altogether next year. He might even get paid better.

Where’s the “other” option when you need it

I'd pay him something around 12M to be our starting PG. Defense and playmaking can be very useful in LA nowadays...

I think Randle gets more than Cousins this summer.

Lmao.
There's no scenario where Rubio isn't in the NBA next year. He'll either get a decent contract playing for a non-contender or he'll take less money to play for a playoff team. My money is on the latter.
New York said Mitchell wasn't the guy you trade the sink for, then they traded it for Mikal, lol.

Re: Predict the Contract: Ricky Rubio Edition
Rubio is a strange spot. He could make $12+mil/yr on a 2-year deal from a team looking to compete for the postseason but needing a starting PG. That's a really rare combo, and right now most teams without a franchise PG are looking to rebuild.
I chose the $3.5-7mil option, and I think that's his contract is likely to be the low end of that. Ricky will get the BAE, or a chunk of a team's MLE. The reason I predict for this steep dropoff in his price range is that, below a starting spot, not too many teams are looking for guys with RR's skill set off the bench.
I think there's a real possibility Ricky chooses to return to Spain, instead of being a bit player in America. It could end up the same type of money he would get in the NBA, and he would be not only a starter, but a star, and perhaps a legend.
