Capela to the Celtics?

So I heard it was a near done deal, and now I am hearing that the Celtics were never interested.

What’s the deal here?

I think if Looney agrees to an offer by Morey tomorrow then capela’s days are numbered. I don’t see Butler coming. Looney will be half the price of capela and able to do the same thing. He has a short jumper already unlike Capela

Looney doesn't move as well as Capela imo. He adds tremendous size, but his legs are obtunded. Nice value only if cheap.

This is also assuming that Capela is getting traded.

The meeting with Looney will be basically like this: Hey Kev, we are working to get Butler, but if we can't get him, then we'll just keep Capela. We have great interest on you, so stay tuned on our Butler situation and don't consider other offers.

Looney is hot asset, teams want him. Also I doubt Morey will give him the best offer $$$ wise. His pitch will be more around catching lobs from Harden and getting good stats. So I doubt Looney commits before knowing he will start for us. Not the other way round.
