Any expected Free Agency Moves By The Hawks?

Post#1 » by pacehawk » Sun Jun 30, 2019 10:23 pm

From the little I have read it sounds like the Hawks will remain pretty quiet during the beginning stages of Free Agency? But, Can we expect them to make at least a couple of signings to replace some of the players (Dedmon, Prince, etc) they have lost or will they be content on waiting this out to make more CAP Friendly signings?

Shouldn't expect moves like that on day 1 of free agency.

I think we will look for a cheap C - $3-$4 mil range.
I think we'll use our capspace to facilitate a trade and get an asset.

PG: Young
PG: Adams
SG: Huerter
G/F: Hill
G/F: Crabbe
G/F: Turner
G/F: Reddish
G/F: Bembry
SF: Hunter
PF: Collins
F: Brown (2-way)
F/C: Spellman
C: Len
C: Fernando
C: Plumlee

It looks like we don't have a ton of roster spots to begin with.

There was a rumor (via The Athletic) that Hawks are looking to trade 2 expiring contracts for 1 to clear a roster spot.

That’s an interesting idea. I was looking through expirings and the only one that might work would be Hill/Plumlee for Parsons. Maybe the Heat would do Crabbe/Plumlee for Whiteside. I doubt either would bite, but those two contracts would be about our only options. Millsap and Ibaka are the other two large expirings, but they both still have value for their teams.

Favors would be solid of a bigman the Hawks could hope for. Still young and seems like a humble, high character fella.

On the C still F.A., the best passers is F.A. C are Noah, Zaza, Amir Johnson... but too much old. Noah with attitude question even if he's will to win always looked a bit like Trae's will.
Between younger C, Cousins, Cauley-Stein, Zubac (restricted)...
Or if defense is the key, with efficiency, get Boban, it will give Rebound and Block but he's too much slow for the style of ATL

I would have be OK with O'Quinn but he's joining PHI

Let's try these! :) : The Euro's

The Dragon - Dragan Bender: another Suns high draft pick we can have pick up to rehabilitate, we did it with Len, why not him.

The Giant - Boban M.: He's just Big

ZAZA - cuz nozing eazy

I'd like to sign Bender to a similar contract as Len. 2 or 3 years under $5m per year, if possible. I love Boban and I think he'd just be a great addition to any team with what he brings in efficiency on the court and just overall great person off the court. I still want VC back, too.

Let's go for Boban, at least he brings some different skill set, and sure, he's very efficient and has a really impact in few minutes

Can the Hawks sign this 2017 Sixers pick, Pasecniks? He's a FA now.

He's 23 years old, 7'1"
Commit to the process
