Did anyone ever run at York University Glendon Campus? That used to be the original Raptors practice facility back in the mid-late 90s. It had a very similar paint on the court to this.

I'd be all about bringing back the purple ones on more of a regular basis while keeping the white and black OVOs.. I hated the purple ones when we first got the team but I won't lie they've grown on me

My guess is the white version Lowry wore during the parade. Those were the uniforms we wore when we played on that court. Then they’ll bring back the purple again for our 30th anniversary

They wore the purples during the 20th anniversary season so perhaps they will do something different this time.

Some people love it, some people hate it, but the fact it's a polarizing look really doesn't matter because it sells, and for MLSE that's what matters.

Every time this comes up I have to mention our Throwback jersey is the most expensive jersey to buy on 2k in MyTEAM, other fans from other fanbases love it

Mitchell and Ness is a niche product, so sure, the purple sells well to a certain customer base.

What many people are ignoring is that the whole reason the Raptors switched to the red and black was to sell more merch, and be more wearable. The fact remains that the purple and red is a bot of an oddball combination and it's harder to actually wear in public. They wanted the gear to be worn out and about by more people - mote adults - to build better brand identity, and for the free marketing that provides. Of course some people wore the purple stuff around, but it increased a whole bunch when they switched. It didn't hurt in selling more gear across the country either, as the colors were more acceptable in the "Canada colors" sense as well.

They'll do purple stuff as special editions, but they would be stupid to switch back permanently and kill off a lot of the visibility that the recent success has helped create - as well as the whole We The North stuff - which has never crossed into purple. If there's ever a permanent color switch, I'd prefer the black and gold over a return to purple and red.

I was speaking more to the fact that the purple dino jersey would be a good seller as a 3rd jersey / special edition release. There's no way MLSE is changing their primary colors now.
