Does Summer of 19 put M.Gasol on the Basketball HOF?

Nba champion
+ his SECOND world cup ( not playing for team usa).

his nba individual resume is a bit lacking, few asg,ok one DPOY and some all league teams? just meh.

but his tons of medals in fiba alogn with being an nba champion..... what are the odds now?

I'd say Marc Gasol's chances of making it into the Basketball HOF are 100%.

For me, the more interesting question is whether Ricky Rubio gets in. Before this summer, I would have thought his chances were low. Now, I think he gets in too.

Thats still not enough for me. I wouldn't vote for him. And the hall wouldn't be lacking anything important if he didn't get in.

Fwiw, basketball reference's hall of fame probability has Pau Gasol as 93% chance and Marc Gasol as something like a 3% chance.

He's for sure in, he could be in on his international ball alone and his NBA career is pure gravy on top of that. I'd imagine he's a first ballot inductee.

He would have gotten in the HOF without this Summer. He's European. The bar is so low for him, he likely cinched the Hall of Fame the year he won DPOY.

Rubio is my favorite player, but hell no on HOF for him. I mean he has plenty of medals, but this was first time he was more than just a role player on those Spanish teams, his adult career is just not HOF worthy at all, not even close. Navarro is far more worthy and he is also FIBA MVP, but does he make it? I know FIBA has some sketchy inductees, but this would be too much.

He’s already in. Because he is from Spain. So he is one of his country’s ambassadors for the sport. Pau is in too.
