Will Masai risk our future for his reputation?

Post#1 » by NotMyKawhi » Fri Oct 4, 2019 12:14 pm

Rumor is swirling he may leave after this season

What's best for his name, his brand is to make the playoffs this year even if it hurts our future...in fact, if he makes the playoffs this year and leaves after, it's probably better for his name if we start losing after he leaves. And our situation w all the free agents, sets it up perfect for him

Will MU hold on to a bunch of expiring contracts and cause us to lose valuable assets for nothing when he leaves just for his playoff record? we will find out, but I worry with that interview....it's clear to me he's leaving after this season.

If that is the case, leave now if you're only going to look out for whats best this year, instead of the future

If has going out guns ablazing, we would have packaged Pascal into an all star already to entice Kawhi to stay.

He has never mortgaged our future before. He didn't do it.

Masai has accomplished a lot but I don't think he has achieved all of his goals, even after winning the Championship.

My feeling is that Masai still wants to prove that Toronto can attract a big name free agent. That's going to be Giannis 2021 and if Masai is successful he isn't going anywhere.

What an incredibly odd take! Soooo, Masai is some sort of dubious selfish villain now? Like wtf are you even talking about?

We've been over this. Trading old veterans for trash long term deals and middling picks is not really all that great from a basketball perspective. It is also poor from a team management. It would hamper the brand.

I'm thinking that Woj has a bunch of burner RealGM accounts now.

Why is our fan base so insecure, even after winning a fugn championship.

Allow me to translate....

One Frank Isola (lol) article comes out and this place starts yelling "the sky is falling"

Masai was responsible for putting together the first championship team but people are still skeptical. When there's nothing to complain about people will make up something.

Crazy thread. Did not he just win a title? I think that helped his reputation.

Pretty sure that’s a Bryan Colangelo thing. That’s one thing we don’t ever have to worry about with Masai
2019 Eastern Conference All Stars

Derozan
Lowry
Ibaka
Valanciunas
Van Vleet
Delon Wright
Lebron
Embiid

There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.

Just like rumours swirling that he was leaving this season. I will take the word of Masai than rumours anyday. He already shot down rumours, why continue to hang onto them?

We're going to have melt-down threads following every loss that'll make this board even more unbearable than last season. Be careful what you wish for.

This. Masai isn't B.C.

That article posted was from a Knicks writer. Masai isn’t going anywhere. He made that clear amid the Wizards rumours this summer. Further, the Knicks out of all places? Dolan? Really.
