I thought that he would be taller than his previous measurement.

he's clearly 1.5-2 inches taller than Zo, who everyone was saying was 6-6

Zion's always been in the 6-6 range, nothing changed.

Shouldn't have worn those skinny flip flops.

Yep. His previous height was discussed in relation to the previous standard of measuring with shoes as that was how it was useful to compare him to other guys already in the league. These new measurements are just shifting everyone down an inch or so. It's only interesting when a player has a much bigger shift relative to peers (and just in general for knowing how tall players are compared to us).

They are measured without shoes.

Didn't think we needed a thread for this since it was already talked about in the other, but anyways, I'll say it again. These measurements are without shoes. With shoes he's 6'7. So not a big deal at all.

Now I'm curious about Lonzo's height, I think that he will be measured at 6-5 or 6-4

When he was talked about being 6'7, it was in basketball terms which is referring to shoes on. So you add pretty much an inch and a half to his barefoot height of 6'6 and he is around 6'7.5". This I think is actually a great measurement for Zion because I know there were people who believed he was maybe not even 6'6 with shoes on.

lol there were people who also said hes 6'8 but they wont be around now.

with the nba and "positionless" basketball hes undersized. most 3-4's are the same height today..which is taller and longer than zion. Hes not gonna be able to jump over 6'9 forwards.

yea, not sure what the point of this thread is, almost everyone already knew Zion was in the 6-6 range without shoes, in fact this is actually good for Zion since a lot of people also thought he's 6-5 without shoes.

I'd be a lot more interested in seeing his official weight. Sucks they chose not to record it.

Even in this smallball era, 6'6 is very small for a PF. He's got very interesting and unusual physical dimensions for a basketball player.

Yup. Everyone knew he was going to be a short PF, this has been known for ever. Being 6'6 barefoot puts him with other PFs like Draymond, Thaddeus, Millsap and guys like that.

6'6'' without shoes is actually pretty good for Zion. That's about 6'7'' with shoes. It was more likely for him to be 6'5'' barefoot than 6'7''.

Draymond Green
Thaddeus Young
Paul Millsap
Jerami Grant
PJ Tucker
Kenneth Faried

Are all PFs that measured 6'6 or below. You have guys like Justise Winslow who measured at 6'4.5" and has guarded PFs plenty in his career so far. Undersized? Yes. A height that we haven't seen before be successful at the 4? No.
