I like Beilein's offense but you might need a deeper team to run it 82 games a season. I can't tell whether it's just young guys abandoning it, or whether guys are just too tired.

K. Love is really a second option. The good version of Sexton is really a third. When Love is out, and good Sexton doesn't show up, we're a bunch of role players just trying desperately to get the ball in the hoop.

I mean the Blazers are missing Whiteside, Nurkic, and Collins.

Good lord this Blazers team looks awful.

Their offense is ISO ball, brick, iso ball, brick, iso ball brick.

No wonder why Carmelo Anthony is such a good fit there.

Man, Sexton has a super long leash. Almost blew the W trying to attack attack attack when all they needed to do was milk the clock.

Delly, Clarkson, McKinnie, Porter/Osman, Nance/TT was the most competitive combos. Ball was also moving and not stagnated.

no, he got pinched with tt and put dame on the line but then stole the inbound to seal it.
the amt of hate this kid gets is just stupid given hes a project and they believe in him attaining a high upside despite most fans incapable of understanding why. the why is nobody is as quick and nobody has the same work ethic not on the cavs anyway... they dont even have a leash and dont operate that way with their core.
but yeah milking the clock is not in Sextons vocabulary.

He's been turning it over a bunch too.

I thought McKinnie looked good and Garland is showing signs of being a legitimate player.

Sexton had taken a few steps back from his hot finish last season...mainly because hes playing for a real coach who is trying to take away individual success to build team success, which he never had before and a different role than what he already had started to maximize. This system exposes his youthful iq some since it is far less about his work ethic and chops physically which he clearly has continued to improve but is more about him learning to play better in a an actual system that creates looks for all 5.
he will get there but his haters will keep on hating.

Don't get me wrong, I don't hate Sexton at all. I love his midrange game and his intensity, and I know experience is the best teacher, but it won't hurt if the coaching staff whispers to slow down and get others involved if possession after possession he jacks and misses, or turns it over.

Garland looks more composed now and is starting to settle down.

The game has already significantly "slowed down for him" it has nothing to do with him slowing down. He plays until the last second. His speed is an asset and once his teammates learn how to play with him instead of him having to try to adjust to their deficiencies ( Garland) and having missed opportunities to score because of their failures, this team will be much better off. Garlands lazy careless attitude is a stark contrast to Sextons reckless abandon and relentless desire to win. Garland's layed back attitude may be easier for the rest of the team to play off of, but make no mistake even if Sexton has to be a 1 man show off the bench nobody is asking him to slow down that has any vested interest in him being successful as it would negate his ability to be impactful. Right now he is being asked to some things he is not comfortable with yet, but nobody is trying to take away his strengths as if they are the problem.

The Cavs sat out Love and was on a 2nd night of a back to back and still couldn’t win the tank battle. That’s how bad this Blazers team currently is.

The Cavaliers would’ve been #2 overall on nbatankathon if they lost.

I understand tanking is less effective now after the odds changed. That doesn’t stop me from having s little bit of the Sam Hinkie mentality though.

Especially considering how this Cavs roster looks which is pretty “meh”.

Maybe we’ll get back to having some lottery luck again for the next couple drafts. To make a “feel good moments” for Dan Gilbert after suffering his stroke.

Also it sure would be nice if the Blazers hit the “panic button” and offered a MONSTER TRADE PACKAGE for Kevin Love, but I know that’s wishful thinking at this point..

Yeah they are not trading for Love imo if they have any sense left as the rest of the roster is garbage right now outside of Lillard. I mean CJ is playing like crap and I am not sure there is anyone the Cavs would want short of Collins who is injured...But they did trade for Whiteside and Bazemore for their defense to patch the loss of Harkless and Aminu which was pretty dumb so who knows... I am not a believer the Cavs will shop Love though anymore. Maybe I will be dead wrong, but im just not seeing it.
