Knicks, Hornets Discuss Trade Involving Julius Randle

The New York Knicks and Charlotte Hornets have discussed a deal centered around Julius Randle, league sources told Ian Begley of SNY.

SNY adds that Terry Rozier, Malik Monk and Dennis Smith Jr.'s names have all been brought up in trade discussions.

The Knicks attempted to sign Rozier last offseason.

Though it is not clear how much traction these trade discussions have gained, the two sides have been in recent contact.

Good deal for the Hornets. Randle's contract expires into a top free agent class. He and Rozier are the same age. Hornets have Devonte' at PG.

It does create some redundancy with PJ Washington. In order for these talks to have any traction, either another team wants Randle or PJ Washington.

Sacramento could be considering Randle for Bogdan. Houston might be demanding PJ for Capela. Or the Hornets could make Randle a small-ball center.

The most likely scenario is there's another move involved.
