Kobe Bryant’s big fortune and family issues

Post#1 » by Berserk_Raptor » Sun Feb 16, 2020 9:20 pm

Possibly as most of you, all I knew was Kobe Bryant as the most successful player to ever wear the purple and gold and a huge list of accolades. However , since his death , several videos on YouTube have come out about Kobe’s life off the court. Apparently, his family, parents and sisters used to live off his money until he met Vanessa, and his parents never approved that relationship to the point that never attended his wedding, videos also mentioned that one of the main reasons was because Vanessa was Latin.
Some people also mention that Kobe’s parents could be now after his fortune now that he’s dead.
It is sad but damn money changes people.

Eh? It's been almost 20 yrs since Kobe got married. Why would anybody think that his estranged parents would get control over his estate over his widow? That's just silly talk.

Also: Kobe met Vanessa when she was still in high school, and they got engaged within 6 months. I'm pretty sure that's the reason why all his friends and family were against that marriage. I doubt it had anything to do with her ethnicity.

honestly, without a source you should be banned for starting a thread with such complete nonsense.

A parent going after their dead son's fortune when he left behind a wife and 3 kids? In what corner of this country of ours would that even be anywhere in the realm of what is legally possible?

Pathetic attention seeking trolling to start a thread like this. :noway: :nonono:

Sadly this sort of stuff happens to every day families all the time. We're obviously dealing with a much bigger celebrity and fortune but hope they can avoid making this harder than it already must be for them.

Should've ended the post after this. The rest of the stuff is random rumor crap that means absolutely nothing.

It's not Kobe Bryant's big fortune. It's Kobe and Vanessa Bryant's big fortune.

Going back into his old interviews, it seemed like Kobe was very aware of his own mortality, and by all means, his work reflected that.

I’m pretty sure he has a will outlining who controls what and what in the event of his passing.

Your post comes of as being very self righteous. The OP is just adding context to Bryants family life and current situation. And wills are almost always contested when real money is at stake.

Not really. The OP came off as dumb (no offense) If you look at this with common sense, he was worth north of $500M. If he wanted his parents excluded, they are excluded. They can contest all they want. I'm sure his will is 100% rock solid lol

If a will is contested it is thrown out and the estate is divided up intestate which means the widow gets the money. If there is no widow the surviving children get the money. If there are no children then I think at that point it goes to the parents.

And like others have said, it's not Kobe's money, it's Kobe and Vanessa's money. I doubt there was a prenup and even if there was one I'd bet anything it was removed later on in life once it became obvious Vanessa was in for the long haul.

Under any imaginable scenario there is ZERO chance the parents could get their hands on Kobe's estate.

So in other words the OP was complete nonsense and don't give me that crap about his adding context. He's adding nothing but unsubstantiated rumors with no sources cited or videos linked. He should be banned IMO

You can't blame GarPax for Dwyane Wade rigging the dunk contest. That's 100% on Dwyane Wade.
