pacers are 3-7 over their last 10 games, so we might steal this one

but it will require some effort

I don't remember Biggie being such a flopper before his year on Vlade's team.

Simons has an unbelievable amount of work to do this offseason to become a good player. He has talent, but man, he's just not ready for real NBA minutes.

I wouldn't mind seeing Simons play somewhere else at this point.

I can't wait for Melo and Whiteside to be off this team.

Nah... I'd like to give him another year. He's really young. But he certainly wasn't ready for the role he was shoehorned into.

Simons has struggled for expectations were far too high for a guy who only really played two years
of HS ball and didn't play last season.

I'd play out the season and worry most about getting everyone healthy for fall camp. Time for the
young players to play which includes allowing Collins to test his shoulder towards the end of the
season.

Too bad. That was a winnable game.

Yea we can't rush too much to judgement. Trent Jr looks like a legitimate rotations piece. 2 months ago, I thought the Blazers may waive him for a roster spot. Simons quite frankly stinks right now. But he's flashed enough to reasonably expect he can end up being good. The Blazers training staff needs to bulk him up 10-15 pounds though. He needs to work EXTREMELY hard at getting stronger. He needs to fix his shot, which doesn't get enough arc. He needs to work on his left hand.

He's a fluid athlete though, and he tries hard out there. If he's got a good work ethic, he'll end up alright. I wouldn't overrreact. I do wish we still had Jake Layman on this team though instead of an unplayable Hezonja.

People treat Simons like he is 24 and has had many years in the league. Just because he shows flashes of potential greatness surrounded by pretty meh play doesn't mean he will never put it together.

Plenty of guys enter the league like he did and really show something good after a few years.

Once again, a game that was basically decided by FT attempt disparity. A winnable game goes bye-bye...

I guess the best thing about the game tonight was Mr and Ms Epicurus got a brief exposure on national tv. Outside of that it was pretty dead in the arena. McCullum admitted to fatigue on his last couple shots.

I'm not sure the last time he showed a flash of potential greatness. All I'm ever seeing anymore is "meh" play. Hezonja shows just as much potential and we all know he blows. I'm ready for the team to sign someone else to handle the ball and send Simons to the G-League to develop his greatness. I'm just tired of watching the guy. If he ever amounts to something, then great, but I am not going to hold my breath at this point.

Trent has a limited well defined role. He is a finisher and defender. On offense, Trent primarily is a shotmaker. Trent is expected to simply shoot when he gets the ball, not a whole lot of decision making. Simons is a playmaker, or he is being groomed to be a playmaker. While Trent's role is simple and well defined, Simons's role is not simple and well defined.

Trent is doing well because he is putting out the effort on defense and he is making shots. He is doing everything that he is expected to do. Simons's role isn't to simply wait for someone running the offense to pass him the ball. The numbers don't show it but I bet Simons is a better shooter than Trent is. We have 5 years of numbers on Lillard and CJ. The numbers suggest CJ is the better shooter, but I dispute that. I think Lillard is a better shooter but his shot selection and quality of shots isn't as good. Sometimes it's not a matter of decision making. Sometimes Lillard's role in the offense dictates his shot quality isn't going to be as good as other players.
