Key Notes
-Bamba says he's 100% healthy
-He says he is NOT a COVID long hauler
-He has been running 3.5 miles per day
-He has LOST weight at the Magic medical staff's advice
-After hitting 252 lbs, he says he now weighs 240
-Didn't seem like he appreciated Clifford's remarks about him being "a ways away", doesn't seem to agree with that assessment

Time to prove it the entire year, young fella. He's had moments where it's been tantalizing but obviously post bubble looked heavy/slow. I want him to succeed.

If true, its great news that he's COVID free but nobody cares how he feels about Cliffs comments. Get out on the court and do something. He's needs to show he can at least bury Birch squarely on the bench. Cliff is probably trying to motivate him since last couple season he apparently needed it with his low motor.

He was better than Birch last year. Clifford just prefers Birch. I'm glad Bamba did this interview and got this out there. People can't blame Bamba for Bamba not being on the floor now.

Again, this is just another prime example of why it feels like all this organization has done from day one with Bamba is make excuses for why he is not where he needs to be yet. Clifford's comments feel like nothing more than an excuse for why Bamba is going to have another season of >15mpg/DNP's.

Yeah if they play him more than 15 minutes we might not make the 8th seed.

I agree he needs to prove that he's the future this year (and have at least decent opportunity to, provided he earns it), but at least he's not letting the narrative of he's not ready or being brought along slow define this season. He kinda needed to put it out there and is betting on himself.

Sounds like Mo might finally have the chip on his shoulder he needs to prove his worth. If Clifford's comments provoked that then I'm happy for it.

Whether Clifford actually rewards Mo for improved play is a whole other story. But I would love to see a motivated Mo on the court.

Let's go Cole.... become a 1-2 punch with Bamba off the bench. Motivation through personal relationships where one is a GoGetter!

Really happy for this development. The bench might be pretty fun to follow this season!

Cliff will probably put Mo exclusively with MCW running the point. Last year he was really clicking with Fultz before he moved him to the SL.

Hey Mo, everyone wants you to lock up that backup role away from Birch and in fact, eventually replace Vuc at starter. BUT you gotta prove it to us first.

Hard to justify you having more minutes when in the few minutes that we do see you, we kinda see the proof that younhave a low.motor.

I get how "coach speak" can sometimes hid the actual situation, but for Cliff to say he's "a ways away", then, Mo come out days later and say he's 100%...

Is Mo in Cliffs doghouse already?

I hope not, but weird that they could be so far apart on this.. they have the same medical staff, right?

It could be phsyically speaking Mo is cured of covid but coach sees that he still lacks stamina/motor/drive/whatever and thus says that

If i was Mo I'd just ask for a trade. I really don't see him getting anywhere with Cliff.

Plus when the coach says you're a ways away, it hurts your value.

Mo seems like a really nice person, but he is an absolute bust. I said it. He has not shown even slight improvement since joining the team and he’s well beyond the “he’s learning the game” stage.

I wouldn't go that far, he can be guilty of doing things that warrant DNPs but I'm hoping he absolutely blows up. There has to be consistent effort and energy and think THATS the part the rubs Cliff the wrong way and that's why he'll turn to Birch at times. Either way talk is cheap. Show us.

Yeah people have different definitions of being 100%. Running 3.5 miles a day is great but that's not the same thing as being in NBA basketball shape. Anyone in here who "runs" and plays basketball can attest to that. So while Mo may think he's ready the coaching staff may not. Who knows.

I think his post defense improved.

If the coach is hurting his value, and with a lack of consistent playing time, this would be the WORST time to ask for a trade.

Unless you're ok with getting a 2023 2nd round pick in return! lol
