Pistons are one of several teams opting out of the proposed g-league bubble in Atlanta. That being the case, what becomes of 2-way players this season? Are rosters expanded? Do they simply get cut? Just curious.

Re: G-League bubble
It's weird. I can understand not sending the two-way players as they might be needed to play with any COVID outbreak. Also 2-way contracts are allowed 50 games each and unlimited practice time with the big club so for all intents and purposes there is 17 man rosters. 2-way players can only be four years or less removed from their draft class though, so it is a bit limited in that regard.
(last season there was a total days restriction so games + practice days + travel days all factored in)
Given the GR Drive are not owned by the Pistons are the Drive still going to field a team in Atlanta, just without any Piston affiliated players? Do the Pistons maybe send Gelo Ball and that other player they signed to a non-guaranteed contract?
I wonder if the fact the Pistons are dropping GRD as an affiliate after this season and buying Motor City Cruise who start playing next season also factors into this decision in any way.

And what about Sirvydis, who was gifted a full contract but was expected to spend the season in the g league?

Re: G-League bubble
I believe the Pistons had to pay $500K for the Drive to participate in the Atlanta bubble. While the affiliation lasts through this season, I can see how they wouldn't want to make that investment.
I wonder if the players who aren't on the roster can just stay in Detroit and continue practicing with the club when they're in town. With Covid and possible quarantines, more players may be needed at any time.
