Some Blazer trade ideas.....

Post#1 » by Blazers20 » Mon Jan 4, 2021 11:04 pm

CJ for Siakam
Is this an upgrade for Portland or downgrade?

Nurkic-Hood for Porzingas
High risk high reward. Mavs get a more reliable player. This is a swing for the fences trade for Portland.

Collins-Little for Markannen
I think Lauri spreads the floor well.

1. Yes.
2. Yes.
3. Yes.

Porzingas is a bit of a reach to get him. More needed to Dallas. Nurkic has had his own injuries and Hood, too. But, yes, I'd roll those dice.

I don't think the other team takes any of those trades.

Why would the other teams agree to any of those trades?

CJ + Collins for Pascal is low key exciting.

What about Collins for McGee? Isn't McGee a pretty good defensive center? It seems like cleveland might like a younger guy with some potential over an older guy. And it seems like the Blazers could use someone who can actually play and who could be a defensive presence and rebounder.

McGee can only play center and between Nurkic and Kanter I think we are okay there. What we need is a pf who can defend and score well enough to keep defenses honest. I still hope Collins can become that if he gets healthy but I would be looking for other potential solutions.

I would honestly have no issue ditching Stotts for Becky this offseason. You need to surround her with a great coaching staff (As you would any rookie HC), but she is a legit great basketball mind. There is no 'push this woman up the ladder to achieve diversity despite lack of qualifications' type PR taint on her, she is as qualified as they come.

Yeah that is a problem with that, the depth at center. But Nurkic has not been good enough, and Kanter is known as only good in certain circumstances.

Rebounding and defense seem like main issues for the team, so an improvement with a big would be great. It would be nice to have that addressed soon rather than struggling through the season and hoping Collins comes back late season and is that answer.

Giles could be the guy, but Carmelo causes an issue because he is getting those PF minutes regardless of if someone else might be better. So they could get another C to help weather the storm from Nurkic getting back into shape. Or they could somehow get Carmelo to have less minutes and maybe Giles is an upgrade for defense and rebounding over him. Or maybe they need a different PF to be that defensive and rebounding upgrade over Carmelo.

But I'm guessing they will stick with what they have and they will be fighting for a playoff spot.

How about:
CJ + Collins
4
Bagley + Hield+ Ramsey and 2 second round picks ?
Sort of a home run swing and maybe Sac gets a 3rd team involved but Bagley could be star in Portland
Ramsey is a tough competitor who I really like.
Heild is bigger than CJ and we dont lose any shooting there.

Had pass.

CJ is easily the best player and ZC isn’t chopped liver (not yet anyway) and we trade them for an injury plagued bust, a worse version of CJ and multiple late picks.

I have no problem dealing CJ and other assets for a talent upgrade but this does not qualify.

Would rather package CJ and other assets and make a play for a two guy like Paul George though that has its own list of issues.

Just my opinion.

Bagley is a good buy low candidate but I don’t think the buyer will be POR.
