Re: JJJ and Justise Injury Update
Weird that Winslow doesn't have a set date to return this month. I thought he was supposed to be back pretty early this season. JJJ seems like he may be a ways out. Could be held out till after the All Star Break.

We don`t need them in the regular season, so I am a big fan of the following approach: full and complete recovery + perfect good physical conditions should be gained first before them stepping on the floor.

It's a guess but I think roster & minute manipulation might have something to do with it.

Re: JJJ and Justise Injury Update
On 3J and his injury, I would not rush him back. Let him continue to heal up from injury so he can be 100%. You don't need a potential Jonathan Issac situation where he was rushed back and ends up with a season ending injury again. Plus it's not like the Grizzlies are deep into their contender status. Just go step by step here.
With Winslow, I understand the Grizzlies angle with a third playmaker in the wings. Who's to say when he will return to action. So far it seems not to be too soon. Hopefully for his sake he can make a comeback. Otherwise, the Grizzlies may have other plans.

Memphis have a lot of roster decisions to make.. They're currently playing 10 deep without Jonas, 3J, WInskow & Allen in the rotation. Anderson was one of the potential trade options this offseason not seen as a good fit but he has been playing exceptionally well so far this season. Is it not possible they're trying to get an extended look at Anderson seeing that Winslow at the start of the season was expected back already but is somehow still injured ?.
What do you think happens to Anderson when 3J & Winslow who have been out "due to injury" returns to the rotation?.. Teams have stretched injuries before to tank rosters, why not in order to get a better look at players who's future are n question?. It could explain why they have been quite about their injury progression & return dates.
3J & or Winslow returning may have pushed Anderson & or Clarke out of the rotation, not even considering Jonas starting.... Isn't it a good thing Memphis are getting a good look at Clarke as a starter with all these injuries ?
Was Jonas not cleared of Covid before the Spurs B2B? If correct, then why is he still in protocol? health & safety or the play of Tillman & Memphis getting a good look at him starting at C ?.
This could all be happen stance but II do think/believe Memphis could be manipulating injuries & Covid to navigate how they judge the roster moving forward.

I am buying this story. Well thought though.
So Grayson, Kyle, Dieng, Melton, and maybe even Clarke are all available by the deadline, aren`t they?

I'd assume everyone not named Ja/3J are under evaluation & potentially available.

Are you placing JJJ on the same level at Ja? I would still sell him though definitely for a top-5 pick.

I think Ja has more chance of reaching his ceiling than 3J but I actually think 3J has the higher ceiling as a 3 & D PF/C, legit 7 footer, that can put the ball on the floor & play like a wing. The only thing that would make me consider trading 3J is his inability to stay healthy.
Remember, big men take longer to develop & 3J is younger than Ja despite being drafted first. He came into the league fairly raw offensively as a 19yo. He's already one of the better shooting big men at 20-21 in a variety of ways, averaging 6 3's a game at a 40% clip. Chemistry wise he brings ideal/optimum spacing out the front court for a drive first PG like Ja. While possessing the defensive potential to guard perimeter to post as Memphis most versatile big man option.
In short, yeah 3J is a corner stone piece for me.

He was cleared to come back to the team but I think he still had to ramp back up basketball activities. If he was symptomatic and actually sick he will need a little time to get back into game shape. I expect him to be back before too long though. The one thing Tillman did do was make sure JV didn't get rushed back so I'm not saying he hasn't been a factor like you are alluding to, but I think there is more to it than just that. Trust me, COVID can be a real son of a gun for some people and there may be additional precautions in the new COVID rules the league recently implemented. MPJ was out for like three weeks at one point though.
