Wouldn’t surprise me if Washington and Richards are back next game as well

Re: Kai-Light Reel: The Kai Jones Thread
ESPN+ on Kai Jones at the recent G League Showcase
Kai Jones | 6-10 | PF-C | Charlotte Hornets | Age: 20.9 | No. 19 pick
Averaging 10 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists in 25 minutes over two games in Vegas, Jones showed both what makes him an intriguing long-term prospect for Charlotte as a rim-running, lob-catching center while also proving he's still a ways away from being able to contribute consistently at the NBA level. With elite feet getting out of screens, Jones caught multiple lobs well above the rim, made 2 of 4 triples (he's now up to 43% from 3 on the year), and blocked four shots in two games thanks to his length and quickness. He's also still too sped up playing off the catch or out of handoffs, has issues defending without fouling at times and is still learning the nuances of team defense. The 20-year-old doesn't appear poised to jump into the Hornets rotation and make a major impact this season, but if he can continue developing in Greensboro, he could eventually give LaMelo Ball and coach James Borrego something they don't have on this Hornets roster: a rim-running, lob-catching, switchable center who can step out and make an occasional 3. -- Mike Schmitz

Re: Kai-Light Reel: The Kai Jones Thread
The early returns look promising. I believe in this dude. Kai has the same standing reach as Jarrett Allen and comparable if not superior athleticism but imagine if he fills out. Imagine if Jarrett Allen could hit threes. For me Kai Jones projects somewhere between Myles Turner and Jarrett Allen as an archetype if all goes well. I think every young player JB has worked with has responded to their development plan. Kupchak is plucking starters from the second round. I can't wait to see how Kai Jones turns out. My guess is, pick 19 will look unfair to fans of other teams 2-3 years from now.

speaking of Kai, the pick we traded to New York for him now goes to the Atlanta Hawks for Cam Reddish.

The Knicks also traded Kevin Knox in that deal so it is not so 1 for 1.

Knox is nothing more than required salary matching

I'd rather have the pick than Reddish

agree. I don't think Reddish is good yet. Long term I think I'd rather have Kai over either one, but we'll have to wait and see on that.

Re: Kai-Light Reel: The Kai Jones Thread
For Atlanta, I would rather have pick because its more universally valuable in a trade vs a team maybe or maybe not liking Reddish. However, its unlikely the 20th pick in the draft is more valuable over next few years than Reddish.
Knicks won the trade, but if Atlanta can flip the pick for a win-now guy I like it for them too.

Surely the pick is Atlanta preparing for a bigger trade. I’m predicting Simmons for Collins and picks

100% agree.
It absolutely looks like he’s trying to do less, and by doing so is doing more.
Sitting in the dunkers spot, taking advantage with his quickness and twitch, rotating well and is still playing with obscene energy and effort.

How'd he do tonight? The Swarm's website doesn't have the box score up for the game tonight.
