CP3 needs to be benched

Post#1 » by Pharmcat » Tue Jun 29, 2021 3:47 am

Maybe it’s the effects of covid , or the postseason yips have made their way. But if the Suns have any chance to win this series (it’s already pretty low) they need to bench CP3 and start Payne and play more uptempo. CP has ruined their flow, is flopping around for an Oscar , and looks terrible. His cliff is right around the corner at any minute .

The only question is if Monty has the guts to do it.

I agree. Suns play much better with Payne on the floor. He plays at a much faster pace and is able to get to the rim more often. They really need to give more minutes to Payne and less minutes to Paul.

Payne gives the Clips fits with his speed.

I'm guessing Paul is still feeling the Covid effects. Also, when you're old (as Paul is), and you take a layoff (2 weeks), it takes longer to get your body back in gear. So he may be fighting that, too.

They're 2-0 in the series without Cp3 and 1-2 with him.

They basically beat the Lakers with Cp3 being a liability and worse than Cam Payne in every game besides game 4.

I'm almost convinced that OP's account is some sort of ESPN testing ground for hot takes

I'm almost convinced that he and GSP are the same person, or at least cousins, maybe even siblings.

Would not call benched, but starting off the bench could be better for Suns.

Pretty sure Payne is hurt. No Sun played well tonight.

Ayton had the worst +/- on the Suns at -22. Clips taking a page out of Bubble Lakers book and going with Morris as the big to get sh*t done.

When did he get hurt? Not saying he’s not, it’s obvious to me he doesn’t look right, he was lighting us up earlier, and with no Zu and a hobbled Morris I thought he was going kill us.

Chris Paul also looks hurt, a step slower than usual for sure. It might be COVID or his body is still getting used to the intensity and grind of playoff ball again.

Those threads proclaiming cp3s as the main reason the suns were so good this year, putting him in the company of all time greats... Lol.
Suns live or die by their two young guys ayton and booker. Payne might've gotten them to the finals by now.

I’m still trying to figure out what happened to his three ball this series. 2-16….WTF. For a guy who shot nearly 40% from distance during the regular season he sure as hell doesn’t look comfortable or confident shooting it. It almost looks like he has a bum hamstring with the lack of lift he’s getting on the shot.

He tries too hard to sell for fouls - Many of the attempts with legs all out.
