Nothing against Luka, but "Luka Magic" must be the worst nickname in NBA history

It would be terrible even if there wasn't already a one-of-a-kind legend called Magic.

Is there any precedent for a nickname ever getting replaced with something better or is this something that we're going to be subjected to for the rest of his career?

Edit: I am aware that the phrase mostly refers to the "acts" of magic, the plays themselves, etc... but it is also used as a nickname and this is what I am talking about..."the pass from Luka Magic", "another great night from Luka Magic", etc.

I never thought Luka Magic was his nickname. Just a way of describing the absurdity of what he pulls off on the court.

But you are welcome to not like whatever you want. But that phrase is going nowhere so better if you could find a way to come to some terms with it.

I don't know if that's really a case, but I think that non-US players due to fact that their names are not common to US fans (Luka, Giannis, Pau, Dirk etc), are not attached that much to nicknames.

So to be honest I don't think that Luka has any popular nickname, at least for now. He's just Luka if someone doesn't want to go by Doncic.

The Don is sooooo much better. Seems like it rarely gets used though.

Luka Magic does mostly describe the acts themselves, but many people say things like "the shot from Luka Magic" etc.

Basketball reference has a list of nick names. This isn't one of them. However

I agree that The Don sounds cool and fits with his name. I'm not sure why it's never used.

Just Luka is good enough though.

I wouldn't use Luka Magic as a nickname.

Its not even his worst nickname: Luka Legend is by far the worst. He has accomplished absolutely nothing. Give him the nickname when he wins a chip.
