Lakers Continue To Explores Ways Of Trading For Buddy Hield

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Mon Aug 2, 2021 7:57 pm

The Los Angeles Lakers have not ended their search for ways in which they could acquire Buddy Hield in a trade with the Sacramento Kings.

But the Lakers would almost certainly need to work with Dennis Schroder on a sign-and-trade in order to bring back Hield. Schroder would go to a third team in a Hield scenario. The Chicago Bulls, New York Knicks, New Orleans Pelicans and Washington Wizards all have an apparent need at point guard. The Lakers, however, have not been in extensive contact with Schroder and his representatives and do not appear to be working in tandem before the start of free agency.

The Lakers traded for Schroder last November, sending Danny Green and a first round pick to the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Lakers offered Schroder an extension worth more than $80 million over four seasons.

The Lakers and Kings were close to a trade involving Hield before they pivoted to a deal with the Wizards for Russell Westbrook.
