Chris Boucher to your team

Post#1 » by Saul Goodman » Sat Aug 14, 2021 1:17 am

Boucher is a very interesting trade chip as in he plays a very valuable role as stretch shot blocking big man. His contract being so small he could contribute to any contender.

I don't see Boucher with the value Toronto fans believe.

Same.

Looks like an expiring backup. 2 seconds I could see, but even the late 1sts feel too far. Maybe if enough bad salary went back?

He'd be a really nice fit for whatever team trades for Simmons

I think he’d be a nice fit in MN. The issue is finding fair value.

The fact that Boucher is nothing more than a rental really limits his value to a good second round pick for me.

He played ~25 mpg out of position at C and did pretty well last year esp before we started tanking seriously. I see him as a starting caliber PF. Understandable if people are wary due to small sample size. Thats what others said about powell last year.. and he just signed a 5 yr starter caliber contract.

I see him around similar value to kyle anderson; expiring 5th-7th player in the pecking order who should fetch a protected 1st.

team trading for him get his bird rights too. For GSW he would be a rental because you likely can't afford him after though.

Why in the world would we give up a 1st round pick, our starting C and GPII for a guy like Boucher who is expiring?

Cmon dude. I'd struggle to give up just Looney for him, who has been our most consistent and well liked C.

Is Bagley/2 2nds the right value?

Can he play starting pf defense? I have serious doubts.

As for Powell, he had basically averaged 30 mpg for 3.5 years when he was traded. He was absolutely a known commodity, and a very good one at that. I don't at all see the similarity in the slightest.

Not to be too simplistic but:

Starts with Toronto:
Boucher 14
Powell 120

The difference in what they each had showed is massive, with one showing two way ability and consistent starting ability and the other looking like a one way bench player.

As a point of reference, I was offering 2 (late) 1sts for Powell pre-trade deadline, and I'm saying 2 2nds for Boucher. The difference is clearly big to me.

Blocks notwithstanding, Boucher rated average to above average on defense on multiple advanced stats for the year. He was also much better prior to the raptors tanking endeavour at the midway point. Not sure where the perception that he is a one way player comes from.

We will likely see more sample size of boucher starting with siakam out the first month so we will find out more then :)

Can Boucher be extended? I know his contract situation was kinda odd for some reason.

If he's willing to extend for around 2 years $10M per, I'd consider Martin+Richards+Iwundu+NOLA 1st (all exp) and bring Kai along slowly

Something built around him to the kings for Bagley. Kings get a good fit off the bench, Raptors try out bagley for a season

I like him, and would love him in Chi. I would trade Coby White for him, although most Bulls' fans wouldn't. I think our backcourt is very crowded, and would like to see Ayo get spot minutes

Or, as part of the Lauri deal-maybe a 3 way somehow

backup? hes universal trade value was moody the 14th pick. not sure why his value is suddenly going down after few months.

I definitely don’t agree with that having been his value at all. I think that is universally off.
