Surprised we're exposing Taylor to Rule V after the season he just put up.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

Josh And Briana

Relationship History of Josh Donaldson

Josh is currently in a relationship with his girlfriend Briana Miller. The couple started dating in 2017.
Previously Josh was in a relationship with Jillian Rose but they split up in 2017 though it's unclear when or why it happened. In a post by Terez Owens, it was alleged that Brianna caught Josh with a girl who is a reporter with Blue Jays though neither of them cleared up the rumors.

Who is Josh Donaldson's Girlfriend Briana Miller?

Not much is known about how the couple first met. They have managed to keep their personal lives private. They have been going strong for 4 years now and there are no signs of them breaking up anytime soon.
Josh's girlfriend is termed as one who brings out the best in him as she has been able to tame his violent streak which was brought about by his parent's divorce when he was young. Though it appears he has improved a lot due to Miller's constant support.

Brianna's professional and educational achievements have been kept very private, although she is very active on different social media handles. She occasionally shows up on her friend Danielle's youtube page where she talks about different things concerning women. Brianna navigates and curates her social media handle very well and seems like a nice person generally.

Josh Donaldson Kids

In July 2020 Donaldson and his girlfriend announced on Instagram that they are expecting their first child, a baby girl.

Looking at her Instagram page, she’s a Toronto girl. Going back to 2012 -2014 (before she was Josh’s wife/girlfriend) she had posted pics of her at Skydome, CN Tower and watching Canadian Women’s Olympic hockey.

Blue Jays roster moves: Who they added to the 40-man and the notable players left exposed to the Rule 5 draft - The Athletic

Notable players left off the 40-man roster

Samad Taylor, 23
, had a breakout season in Double A, hitting .294 with an .888 OPS while slugging a career-best 16 home runs. However, he struck out nearly 30 percent of the time. Since he was acquired in a trade with Cleveland in 2017, Taylor has hung around in the bottom half of the top 30 prospects, per MLB Pipeline. Defensively, he can play all over the infield and outfield. Speed is part of his game, too, with 30 stolen bases in 38 attempts last season.

However, his role on the Blue Jays’ roster would be redundant, with guys like Cavan Biggio, Breyvic Valera, Kevin Smith and Otto López all functioning as utility options already. By leaving him exposed, the Blue Jays run the risk of seeing him taken, especially if a rebuilding team needs a versatile defender. But without playing experience above Double A, and with a lot of swing-and-miss in his game, perhaps the Blue Jays can run that risk, assuming it would be a long shot for him to stick in the majors all season.

Miguel Hiraldo, 21, was among Baseball America’s top 10 Blue Jays prospects before the season, but after hitting .249/.338/.390 in 105 games in Low A, he dropped down that list. He’s still so young, though, so while teams might be tempted to look at him for his prospect pedigree, there’s little reason to believe he could last a full season in the majors on another team’s 26-man roster.

Graham Spraker, 26, transitioned to a full-time reliever in 2021 with Double-A New Hampshire and had a 2.74 ERA in 42 2/3 innings with 62 strikeouts and 23 walks. He’s enjoyed a nice run in the Arizona Fall League, having yet to allow a run in 11 1/3 innings of work with 17 strikeouts. The Blue Jays are on the lookout for swing-and-miss for their bullpen, so the fact Spraker was unprotected suggests they don’t believe he can offer that yet at the MLB level. He’ll be among many relievers up for grabs in the draft, so there is some protection in the fact he’ll be one of many, but he could catch another team’s eye, especially after his fall league performance.

Joey Murray, 25, and Eric Pardinho, 20, are two of Toronto’s starting pitching prospects, but both spent almost the entire season on the injured list. Depending on his health status, Murray might attract some attention in the draft since he’s been an under-the-radar prospect with a deceptive high-spinning fastball. But it sits in the low 90s, so there’s also some skepticism that it would play in the majors. Law previously noted the track record for pitchers like Murray isn’t great in MLB. Pardinho continued to work his way back from Tommy John this past season. He’s pitched just three innings since 2019 and has never been above Low A. He has top-prospect shine, but a team would be hard-pressed to keep him on an MLB roster.

Adding Danner over Taylor is quite odd. Still, Taylor struck out 30% of the time in AA, and his June power surge wasn't maintained. There's a definite chance that he gets picked in the Rule 5 draft, by a team that can afford to let him struggle, but he isn't major league ready.

Amazing. One of 8 teams 'among' those involved - which means there's more.

This isn't really reporting, it's just listing teams.

According to Rosenthal, Marcus Semien is looking for a $200 million deal.

Rosenthal: Best bet for Freddie Freeman; why Rangers are so aggressive; how high for Marcus Semien?; more notes - The Athletic

How high for Marcus Semien?

Predictions for free-agent contracts often vary widely, but three publications had Marcus Semien in a similar range. The Athletic said five years, $148 million, the New York Post five years, $140 million, MLBTradeRumors.com six years, $138 million.

Semien’s new agent, Scott Boras, however, is said to be seeking considerably more than those amounts, perhaps more than $200 million. Semien’s performance from 2019 to ’21 would appear to justify such an investment. Even though he struggled in the shortened 2020 season, he is still the major-league leader among position players in both fWAR and bWAR over those three years.

The problem for Semien, at least when considering the current way clubs evaluate players, is that he turned 31 on Sept. 17.
The last free-agent hitter to clear $200 million at that age or older was Robinson Canó, who signed a 10-year, $240 million contract with the Mariners entering his age 31 season in December 2013. George Springer, who a year ago was almost exactly the same age as Semien is today, landed a six-year, $150 million deal on the open market with the Blue Jays.

Semien possesses certain advantages over Springer: Durability (he has missed only 10 games his last four seasons); two top-three MVP finishes in the last three years (Springer was the 2017 World Series MVP, but has never finished higher than seventh in the regular season); and the ability to play high-level defense at two middle-infield positions (Semien won his first Gold Glove at second base last season).

Boras might point to another of his contracts – Anthony Rendon’s seven-year, $245 million free-agent deal with the Angels – as a comp for Semien. Rendon, though, was almost two years younger than Semien when he signed his deal. Francisco Lindor, who will be paid $224 million in his ages 31 through 37 seasons with the Mets, is another potential yardstick. Some teams, however, view the Lindor contract as an outlier, an example of a new owner, Steve Cohen, trying to make a statement, and getting carried away.

Semien is virtually certain to do better than DJ Lemahieu, who was a year older when he signed his six-year, $90 million free-agent deal with the Yankees coming off back-to-back top-four MVP finishes in 2020. How much better is the question.
